         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>New Students are often discriminated against because of their age and lack of knowledge about campus life</p></li><li><p>Usually this occurs at the beginning of the school year</p></li><li><p>It occurs because there is a lack of camaraderie with seasoned students and new students. Not enough networking opportunities </p></li><li><p>Conscious Inclusion: Social platforms for new students to get involved before the school year, student-to-student mentorship programs, or “new students” policies in clubs</p></li><li><p>Campus leadership and club leaders need to be involved. It’s important to identify new students each year who can help to create new ideas on how to engage  </p></li></ol>]]></description>

They lack a sense of belonging, leading to the lack of retention of POC</p></li><li><p>Full academic year, tends to be later towards winter</p></li><li><p>Faculty and staff don’t understand the needs of BIPOC students and are often not BIPOC themselves, therefore feel less attached to the need for DEI. A lot of the time, people make jokes about things that either don’t effect  them or don’t pertain to their own self. </p></li><li><p>Make people more aware about how the jokes they are making do effect people even if they don’t effect you. If you see something, say something. </p></li><li><p>Everyone needs to be involved. Inclusion is needed on and off campus.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

Advocating for more accessibility on campus &amp; in public places. Have a welcoming &amp; open mind to their story. </p></li><li><p>Everyone who interacts with these people.          <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Gender expectations often impact what majors &amp; careers students pursue. </p></li><li><p>This happens all of the time, but specifically during career exploration fairs and potentially major declaration day. </p></li><li><p>This happens due to societal pressure, historical patterns, and lack of representation in male or female-dominated fields. </p></li><li><p>For conscious inclusion at Central, we could ensure equal or even opposite representation at booths/tabling. For example, we could highlight men in the education department and women in STEM. </p></li><li><p>These forms of inclusion will involve professors, academic deans, club leaders, and the general student body. </p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <title>Weight Worries</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Comparing people who are skinny vs fat.</p></li><li><p>It usually can be seen commonly on social media, in the gym, and common spaces.</p></li><li><p>Insecurities on self being reflected outwards, people being used to having it be a "joke", and unconscious/concious biases.</p></li><li><p>The ways we can combat this and try to be inclusive is acknowledge the issue head on. Working to give out information to inform people about eating disorders and how self image plays into overall health.</p></li><li><p>It is a group effort at the end of the day, but for college it can be encouraged for leaders (SOS/RAs/student development) to make programs/information sheets to encourage positive interactions and open thinking. </p></li></ol>]]></description>
