We decided to play a lullaby, heavy metal, and nature sounds, such as the natural habitat for the cockroaches. Then, determine what gender of cockroaches you have. We tested each gender separately, so first we set the male out on the table with nothing around and no boundaries, took the phone case off of the phone we used. Then we turned the music all the way up and sat the phone on the corner of the table. We videoed each cockroach while each genre of music was playing so we could go back and look at their behavior to each genre of music. We thought that the cockroaches would like the lullaby considering it was soft music, and the cockroaches are nocturnal, meaning they sleep during the day.
