I played a lot of sports growing up so I was always taught to address my coaches as either "coach" or "coach (first name)". Even as I got older into high school and I would see those old coaches around I would still find it hard to call them anything else because I felt this title was a sign of respect (?). As for friends' parents unless it was said by them that it was okay to call them by their first name I would call them "Mr or Mrs...". My family members were always addressed as tia/o, nina/o, aunt, or uncle. So if they expected me to pass my classes or get good grades I had to get excellent grades. It is funny because as a kid I would always hear my friends say their parents would give them money or buy them stuff for getting good grades but it was never like that for me. My parents would always say "Why am I going to pay you for doing what you're supposed to do?" or "Why am I going to reward you for doing your job?" That portion of the lesson focused on job roles without gender barriers. I would say one aspect of Bank's framework this lesson fits would be "The Decision-Making and Social Action Approach". The main activity of the lesson was to think of gender-neutral terms for job titles that would normally have gender stereotype titles to them. This allowed for students to brainstorm together ways to overcome these kinds of barriers and broaden their way of thinking of career paths. Essentially this would lead to breaking down barriers not just in the classroom but outside of the classroom. I would say a way to make this lesson a little deeper would be to talk more about the racial stereotypes we see in job roles as well. An example could be how the media often portrays job roles such as housekeepers by Mexican women or Black women and things like that. Giving examples of different racial and gender groups breaking down those job role barriers in the current time could help. To me, differentiation is the way a teacher responds to different styles of learning that are present in their classroom. This is done to make sure that the material being taught is being understood by the students despite the different learning styles. This can be catered to an individual or group of students. An example would simply be providing a piece of the written text in a form of audio or in a video.

Ways I can differentiate in my lesson plan:

1. Content
   1. meet in small groups of students who are either struggling with the relation of counting to addition and subtraction (reteach the idea presented) or are advanced (extend thinking skills)
2. Process
   1. I'm not sure I completely understand how to differentiate process
3. Product
   1. allowing students to either work with partners or a small group
   2. if needed or requested they may work alone
4. Learning Environment
   1. setting physical boundaries in the class for students who need to work quietly and those who can talk out loud
