Big Ben, at London's Palace of Westminster, is a famous clock often used to refer to the whole tower. It's a global icon and officially named Elizabeth Tower after Queen Elizabeth I. Standing 96 meters tall with five floors, it houses a mechanical room and an observation deck. Built by Whitechapel Bell Foundry in 1858, its bell weighs 13.7 tons, one of the world's largest. Symbolically important in London's life, its chimes are iconic, especially during BBC's New Year broadcasts. It's not just a tourist attraction but also part of the UK Parliament, used for timekeeping and signaling sessions.
