I do have some of the things they ask for but do not have my own car or camera. I do have my work displayed on my own website and Instagram I also feel like I am very confident speaking to clients so that would not be a problem for me.

I do have knowledge of photoshop but I am not great at using it I can do that basics sop that is something I would have to work on a bit. I feel like I am very well organised but my presentation skills are not that good so I would have to work on that to. I am able to work on my own or as a team however I feel like i'm better as part of a team and I am alright at keeping to deadlines.

He talked to us about the courses in design that they offer, the photography course sounded very good. You get to work in all of the spaces and try your hand at a bit of everything. He gave advice about portfolios and we should present them in a professional manor. The amount of students who go on to get work in the design field after studying there is amazing 97%. They spoke to us about the photography courses they offer which are commercial and  creative photography practice. They both sound  very good if I was applying I would probably go for the creative practice. I spoke to the university of Sunderland, northumbria uni who didn't offer a photography course but they do have a fine art where you can do photography and experimental art. I also spoke to the Cleveland college of art and design.   • What kind of agency is Surreal? Surreal is a design company who works with clients to produce logos and other promotional pieces to advertise their company. here is a list of some of the job roles withing the company. Art worker, creative they work with coming up with ideas, illustrator, account handler works with the clients, finance and managing director who oversees the running of day to day business.
  • What education & career routes had Anth Knight taken to get where he is? anth knight in 1987 did art at GCSE then he went to college in 1989 to do OND graphic design for 2 years. In 1991 he went on to do his HND in technical illustration and in 1993 became a junior designer/prepress learnt how to use a mac and print design. 1995 designer for prepress. 2006 senior designer, 2007 designer at surreal. 2009 he became a creative head at surreal he worked with people all over the world. 2011 production manager, looked after day to day still did a bit of design 2015 he was moved up project manager and account handler which he still does now. 
  • What did you think of the average salaries? The national average  salaries for junior designer is £18k-£25k average-22k for a mid weight designer- £25k-£35k average -£30k heavy weight designer- £35k-£50k average-£40k. the national average is £33,443 the north east average is £24,766 significantly lower then national average. I think this is okay but could be better i understand that your salary will be lower when just starting out in a job in this industry however i don't understand why the north east average is lower .
  • What were some of the tips they gave for getting into the industry? Anthony told us that some do employ people straight out of college or uni without any work experience however that is very rear. He said that getting an internship after a HE is a great way to gain experience in the industry and it also looks good on your cv and portfolio. He said that a good cv/portfolio is vital as are...work experience/internships, all round knowledge (design, print, digital) and a good confident interview.

I think it would be best for me if I take some time out from being in education to just to take some pressure off myself. Northumbria because I while they don't offer a photography course i like the sound of being able to experiment with different things and have the opportunity to do some really out of the box things. It just sounds like something I would really enjoy.
