         <description><![CDATA[<div>This image represents how Lenina sees herself in the world state because she is accustomed to it and believes in it. She wants to be a good citizen, and as such when Fanny tells her she has been spending too much time with Henry, she tells her she's right and then goes to hang out with Bernard. She sees herself as a proper "English girl" who flirts and is promiscuous and pretty, she thinks that she fits into the world state, and is comfortable in her role because she feels that she fits in. Thus this image represents her because she feels just like everyone else and is content in that.&nbsp;<br><br>Quotes:&nbsp;<br>"'yes, every one belongs to every one else'" (43)&nbsp;<br><br>"and round her waist she wore a silver mounted green morocco surrogate cartridge belt, bulging (for Lenina was not a free martin) with the regulation supply of contraceptives" (50)<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This image represents Bernard because as we see in chapters 3 and 4 Bernard does not feel like he belongs, looks and feels different than all the other alphas, and which promotes insecurity and doubt in him. He has to fight to get other lower castes to obey his orders, and he thinks he has a defect that makes him appear different from the other alphas. He also really likes Lenina which is against everything the world state stands for, he is different from the others and this image represents that.&nbsp;<br><br>Quotes:&nbsp;<br>"how bitterly he envied men like Henry Foster and Benito Hoover!          <title>Helmholtz</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This image represents Helmholtz because he is confident and comfortable in his caste because he feels that it very much reflects him. He is attractive, smart, and respected, everything that his caste is. Though Bernard feels like he doesn't fit in due to feeling weaker, Helmholtz feels that he is too strong for the World State, he can feel that he is smarter and better than some of his peers. This is very different from both Lenina and Bernard, while he is confident and secure in his role he can still feel that stifling of what he could be.&nbsp;<br><br>Quotes: &nbsp;<br>"'did you ever feel'...'as though you had something inside you that was only waiting for you to give it a chance to come out?'"
