Beautiful nature. Tall winter autumn trees stand,it reflects through water.Water. Cold and filled with leaves. It creates a sense of peace, freedom, and love.I move even closer. And I see the long wide pond. In this joyful moment before the wind blows and shakes the strong trees, I admire itsleaves who shall fall in any second, like all its other leaves who had fallen into the pond all brown and dead, all different shapes and sizes, tiny rainbow in the corner- and the happines turns to wow, and to excitement. It all must have survived countless storms, rain, and humans. It's prepared to defend with many sharp spikes. A large howling wind. It strikes

The river is a shallow flow of water that cuts through the trees. There are rocks in the river. The rocks are wet. I imagine that if I were to walk on the rocks to cross the river I would slip into the calm relaxing water. There is a tree that fell in the river. I wonder what happened to the tree. Was it cut down? Was there a storm? Was it very windy? The fallen tree looks damaged, but for me it is blurry for it is afar.

The trees that still stand are of the many. They are skinny and tall with branches and fuzzy with soft-looking leaves. Some are close together while others might be far enough apart to set-up a hammock. The trees, at least in my opinion, are beautiful. Their dark brown trunks and their dark green trees warm my heart.

If a tree talks

My luscious old tree still stands today, the leaves still hanging for dear life, its bark quickly splits in two. When I was a baby this tree was healthy, beautiful, vibrant, and tall. It is coming to its final day being on this ball of life. I am 17 years old and I love this tree, that may seem a little weird but it has been with me since the beginning of life. I turned 17 a few days ago and witnessed something I wish I did earlier in my life. Ever since I was a baby I climbed this tree getting higher and higher each year till the age of 17, I finally reached the top. A beautiful view I wished to see, blue descending into a calm yellow, and white cloud giving the view perspective. All of a sudden a soothing old man’s voice came out of nowhere. “Hello, Astra.” Where is that voice coming from, I looked everywhere and still couldn’t find where it was coming from. “Hellooo! Down here!” I look down towards the middle of the tree. “Hello?” “Hello Astra, I hope you heard the news” Out of my 17 years I never knew this tree can talk. “I’m sorry but is the tree talking?” “yes and I’m here to talk to you” “why?” I’m genuinely curious about why the tree is talking to me on its last day. “It’s my last day and I want to say thank you. Why? You may ask. Because you talk to me knowing I’m a non-living organism with no legs and arms. You talked to me about your problems and what you’re going through. So I wanted to say thank you.” After all these years why was the tree talking to me at the last minute? “You’re welcome but why did you wait all these years to tell me? “Because I’m only allowed to talk to someone in my entire life span for 5 minutes and once I met you I waited until you became a young lady and here you are. Now goodbye to you Astra, you made these past 17 years the best ever.” I look at the tree and smile, heading my way back home. Mouthing the words “thank you”

-Melina Ogando 827

It transitions from blue to green to yellow to pink. The pastel gradients fill me with bliss. I can almost taste them. The clouds look free, hurrying to the next bay. It’s as if they sprouted wings and are flying at full speed. The water ripples appear sporadically. Excited, yet calm. The sound of it washing up on the shore is refreshing and I want to hear it again and again and again. The sky reflects in the water as well. I get to see it’s beauty twice.

A long fluffy tail quickly follows a brown blur that bolts across the street. This creature is familiar to everyone with it's big black bulging eyes and it's recognizable grey and brown fur with it's small pointed ears and sharp claws. This critter is infamous for leaving behind holes in everyone's lawns, it lurks in many different hideaways such as trees, holes, or under a utility pole. I always try to close in on one when they're not looking to inspect it and admire the cuteness of the little critter. How invasive, agile, nimble, acrobatic, and dexterous it is.

A squirrel

- Ethan Sid 827

Every sunset represents something different. Every sunset means something different to every person. Some sunsets are like a paint palette of different colors, or sometimes it is just all one shade. A sunset could symbolize the ending of a long, tiring day. But, it could also describe the ending of an amazing, one in a million type of day. Whatever to whomever, it all ties into the beautiful sight of the ending of a day. To me sunsets are comforting, relaxing, and beautiful. When I look at a sunset, I feel like all my life problems disappear, and I can just...breathe. Imagine coming home from a stressful day at work, or school. Thinking your day is never going to get better. Until you see the charming, and delightful sunset. Watching as the sunset changes colors or shades. As the sun sinks into the Earth’s core, breathing in the pure fresh air and hearing nature all around you. You realize that everything is going to be just fine.

-Sharon Wang 827

She opens her eyes. Everywhere is pitch black. No room to move nor breath. Hidden away in chains where she may never escape. She dreamed of seeing the light of the sun. Dreamed of feeling the blazing heat of Summer. Dreamed to be free from this wretched place. Every day, rumbles of beasts awaken her, never letting her sleep. Days and weeks passed, she sat, waiting for someone to save her. Noone came. She felt cold. Crying, she realized how delusional she was. All she felt was coldness and pain. Her only friends were the soil and rain. Coming to her senses, she knew her only hope of living was herself. She tried to move her feet but the soil held her captive for her own safety. She moved her arms, fingers, and head creating space for her to breathe. She knew the only way out was up. She desperately lifted her arms and pushed the soil out of her way. Louder and louder the voices in her head screamed. Her arms in distress and legs drained. She touched the ceiling. It was rock hard. She didn’t give up. She focuses her strength into her arm. Punching the ceiling of hell, she climbs out. In a flash, a bright ray of light hits her. She is blown into a trance. She felt as if she were in a paradise. For the first time, she felt heat. For the first time, she saw the light of the sun. For the first time, she was free. In the battle of nature and humanity, a pawn has bloomed.

This waterfall flows powerfully. It rapidly crashes down. It hits the graceful stream below. The waterfall turns into a gentle mist. The mist covers the small stream underneath it. It shrouds the flowing water as a mother would protect her child. More mist gathers where the waterfall first crashes down. Then, it thins out as the stream starts to make her way farther away from the waterfall it first came from. They stand still. With little to no movement. These natural green protectors, they stand peacefully. They are the guardians of this precious cove filled with mother nature’s tears. These plants live off this sacred water supply, cool and fresh. Coming in multiple shades of green, each one different from the rest. Although they take, they also give by providing a safe oasis for the little stream to flow through. a brave band of guardians. This little stream of water must have seen a lot. It is a never ending cycle of travel. You never know where it may end up next. It has seen many beauties and horrors. We must capture it at it’s finest, not its worst, for it has seen many things that we have not. It is wise, and old, but also young. It shall peacefully travel to the next destination. A mixture gathered from all over the world, into this little waterfall. It flows.

The fog hung low as we made our way across the water. The wind hit your face like a slap, and the vast emptiness felt eerie. The only visible land was a bunch of rocks. You can’t help but wonder what would happen if you were stuck out here. The atmosphere was gloomy and paired with the light drizzle of rain that came now and then, it felt different than a regular summer day. Muffled voices surrounded you, yet you keep focus on the water. You wait to see the large fish, which you could only find far away from shore. The land that you stood on only 30 minutes ago was so far, you could only see it if you really tried. Every now and then, a large wave would crash with the boat sending everyone onboard into an awkward shuffle for balance. 40, 50, 60 minutes, no sight of the whales. You passed a few dolphins on the way, but it’s nothing new. Just then, a loud voice boomed in your ears, telling everyone to look at 3 o’clock. You scurry over and try to get past all the tall figures in your way, and you finally get to the front. Just then, you see two large fins escape the water as they dive down into the deep ocean. Two extremely large whales, right in front of your eyes.

She glares. Coffee colored ruffles as fur, separating her from the floor. Vainglorious, studious, and tender. Her nose quivers with excitement, with awareness, with indulgence. I watch her curiously. Her ears quickly turns in my direction. She begins quick hops and then jumps while twisting midair, I watched, caught in the moment with my jaw gaping open, her freedom in the moment like a bright flower holding its petals while the wind blows, she could also be water, continuing to flow through hardships, she has a trait that I have wanted for so long, she still surprises me with it.

She tramples her way back to her favorite corner, I still wonder how she became so persistent, thriving with attitude, and understanding. She used to be fierce as if a lion has awoken inside of her yet she is gentle as well. She is also there waiting for me to give her company. She waits.

It’s a leisurely afternoon as you hike up a mountain. It’s silent with your feet crunching the leaves over and over again. It’s a comforting feeling as you continue your walk. You see the beautiful sight of green and many animals calling out to you. You might want to even join them. But as you continue, the sounds get quieter and quieter and you suddenly realise you are alone. Just walking. So you continue. And you go on and on until you reach the point. The point that you’ve been seeing in your dreams. How pretty it was. All the trees out in the distance, the mountains waving hello from the other side, the clouds floating over the land below, and many people with the same dream up on this mountain. It’s a view that will forever comfort you. No one can take it away from you now.

He stares. White fluffy fur covering the whole of the body.
Aware and vicious. Travels with a pack, working together
like a school of sailfish on the hunt. He stares into your soul
When you stare back, you might want to run or play dead.
Vicious like a mother bear, but more scary and expeditious.
He may look cute but beware, a wolf is very vigilant.
However with a wolf pack you would just be standing there like a clueless child. Don't worry it would just be quick and just a tiny bit painful, it would just be 6 or 7 wolves biting you until... Then your bones would just be a chew toy for the pack.
- Skyler Wang 827

Floating lotus

Floating Flower. Pink surrounded. Captivated by scenes of green. A watery bottom, and an airy top. Still but moving. Her surroundings control the flow. She has no say, only the wind, water, ground, and animals have control. Serene. Day and night passes each day. Same scenery, dark and light. Time is everywhere, yet where everyday is the same. Time is non-existent for this lotus. I feel the sense of drowning while looking at this pretty lotus, no purpose, floating there, surviving, but not living, dews of water dripping across it’s petals. It cannot do anything, so what is its purpose for surviving, to be admired, eaten?
A pretty little thing, trapped in it’s own world, not allowing others to see the world in her roots. Beautiful things encircle a beautiful lotus, unsuspecting, floating, silent, and nothing. She lives on to see another day.

The thing that can see everything and has seen everything throughout the years of existence, surviving through all tragedies big or small, giving life to the trees and plants that live on for hundreds of years and all humans need to have. The things that will be around from the start and end of humans.

Unique with many forms. A flowing white light brushes the trees and the silent air. Revolves around the entire earth. It looks close but it's 250,000 miles away. 4.5 billion years old. And its something we need to guide us through the dark.

He sits on a tree branch, we often see squirrels often if we go outside. He eats a acorn as he sits on the branch, not being intimidated by anyone. He seems aware of his surroundings, with his high tail in the back of him keeping him alert of the things that are around him. He eats the acorn with his sharp claws, if anyone dared to come near him, he’d use his own claws to protect himself against danger, predators, and even humans. His brownish fur protects him from the cold climate in the winter time, he hibernates during the cold season of winter to recharge and rebuild, and hides his food underground. And then in the spring, he gets back to the use of things, and stays active again.
