I tried to think of some ways to create the hexagonal shape without compromising ease of use. I liked the idea of incorporating a handle as seen in the top left hand corner with consumer convenience in mind. Thinking about functionality, I thought the tomatoes would need some extra support so I reviewed my initial ideas which involved making cuts to create a small nook for the tomato to rest in so it wouldn't knock about whilst inside the box. I was additionally reluctant to move away from it because I had spent much of my time and energy dedicated to this specific model and it felt like a shame to throw it all away. However, after reflecting I realised the hexagonal shape required too much redundant space, the closure realistically wasn't strong enough, the interior tabs despite trying to create something easy to construct for customers was still fiddly - altogether it would take more than 30 seconds to 1 minute to construct and potentially quite confusing for the customer which isn't convenient when grocery shopping. I came to the conclusion that I needed to abandon this idea - designing something that was easy and practical for consumer use fit the brief better than trying to create something unique.
