This helps them grow and reduces their breakdown (<a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11255140">12</a>, <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16424140">13</a>).<br>As people age, they tend to lose muscle mass and function, which can lead to injuries and disabilities.
