         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think dangerous is an interesting word choice.  I do believe that dangers can come from a single story mindset but I believe that ignorance is the biggest issue with single stories.  I justify this response by saying ignorance can be dangerous but isn't always.  Having single stories creates a myopic mindset making it difficult to accept change which can also be dangerous.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Donna Miller stated at the last UCIRA conference that a single story can damage a child's self-perceptions. If children only read stories about slavery or the Civil Rights Movement, they are not seeing the complete picture of a African-American or Black person.  We are limiting both the way a child see's their self as well as how others see them.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Yes, it limits our beliefs about ourselves and about others. If I only tell the single story of how I struggled with math as 10th grade student, then that story limits my ability to teach math as a 6th grade teacher. </title>
