During the roaring 20s there was a music genre that increasingly grew more popular that was called Jazz. Jazz was music that was created for people to dance along to. The Charleston, the cake walk, and the flea hop were just a few dances that were popular at the time

During the 1920s, the issue of civil rights started to become more of a conversation. Black American's were searching for more stable employment, improved living conditions, and more participation in politics/political issues.

In the 1920's theater and Broadway, along with other forms of entertainment like carnivals, boomed. Do to everyone in the early 20's being financially well and advancing technology gave people more free time they would watch the movies, see a show, go out to the carnival, and just buy nice things. Due to this more freeing landscape it allowed the people not only the ability to just have fun, but also the time to really engage with their society on a deeper level.
