Located more than 5000 miles away from Moscow, Vladivostok is the biggest city in Russian Far East, and it's one of the biggest port-city in Russia. It was Chinese territory until mid 19th century, but it was taken over by Russia after. Even though it is located in East Asia, it has strong European culture. Thus, people in Korea call it "the nearest Europe to East Asia"

Since it's only 2 hours away from South Korea where I'm staying in, and it's where the Trans-Siberian Railway starts from, I decided to start my journey here. I planned to stay here for 3-4 days and then take a train going to Western Russia.

Places to visit, source
https://www.lottehotelmagazine.com/en/travel_detail?no=266

When you take Trans-Siberian Railway from Vladivostok for three days, then you will arrive Irkutsk. Irkutsk is a city located in the middle of Siberia, and right above Mongolia. It is nicknamed "Paris of Siberia" for its beautiful buildings and art. The great harmony of classical style buildings with building built by USSR is their great attraction.

This is my second destination of my trip. Since going to Moscow by train takes 8 days, I decided to take a break here for a few days. Baikal lake, which is the biggest lake in the world is only a few hours away from the city by car, and I've always wanted to visit there. Its beautiful buildings and nature were great enough to catch my attention.

Places to visit, source
https://www.tripsavvy.com/the-top-things-to-do-in-irkutsk-russia-4171653

Moscow, the capital of Russia, is the last stop of my train. It is 5000 miles away from the first stop Vladivostok, and it takes almost 10 days to arrive here. Moscow is the largest city in Europe in terms of population, and fifth in the whole world. Moscow is a major hub of culture and art. Famous authors, such as Pushkin and Bulgakov are from here, and famous museums such as Tretyakow Gallery is also located in Moscow

Moscow is the city I've always wanted to visit since when I was young. I've visited Western Europe several times, but I didn't have any chance to visit here. Kremlin with Red Square is the one that I could always see on TV, and their subway is known as the most beautiful subway in the world. Russian government is also building skyscrapers just like New York, so you can feel classic and new at the same time. I would love to stay her for more than a week.

Place to visit, source
https://www.tripsavvy.com/moscow-facts-1501850
https://www.tripsavvy.com/things-to-do-in-moscow-1501845

St. Petersburg, on Baltic Sea in Russia, is the second biggest city in the country, and it was a capital of Russian Empire until early 20th century. Most building here were build in 17-19th century and they are still well-preserved that makes you feel like you are in Renaissance Europe. Saint Petersburg is known as the "Cultural Capital of Russia", and also known as "the most beautiful city in Russia"

Sadly, St. Petersburg is not connected to the railroad, so I have to take flight to this city. I was actually thinking about not visiting there because it was a little far from Moscow that will bother my plan, but there is no way that I could miss my chance to enjoy this city. This city is influenced by Paris, France, and I would like to see if I can feel Paris in this city.

place to visit, source
https://www.tripsavvy.com/things-to-do-in-st-petersburg-with-children-1622553

Even though relatively few travelers make it to Ukraine, and its cities are not as popular as other big cities like Moscow or Paris, there is no doubt that Ukraine is definitely a city worth visiting. Kiev, located in the north of Ukraine, is the capital of the country. It is an ancient city with plenty to occupy sightseers, and affordable prices and great meals are attractive enough to grab travelers' attention. You can feel a different vibe from Russia in this beautiful city.

After taking 2-3 hours of flight from St. Petersburg, I can finally arrive Ukraine. I've been interested in this country since when I heard of Chernobyl. So, yes. The main reason I want to visit here is because of Chernobyl. A part of the city is open for tourists now and I definitely want to visit.

Bucharest, located in the southeast of Romania, is the capital of the country, as well as its cultural, industrial and finacial center. Its great history and fast-growing tourism make this city much more energetic. Its beautiful 19-20th century buildings and palaces and are elegant, and has a mix of architectural styles, such as bourgeois palaces, splendid Orthodox churches and graceful belle èpoque villas tucked away in quite alleys reminiscent of the city’s most glorious era, and big communist tower blocks built in late 20th century.

This is the city that I want to visit the most during this trip. I have many Romanian friends in New York, and they have always talked about how beautiful Romania is. They used to take me to authentic Romanian restaurants all the time and I always loved the food and listening to their story. Now it is time for me to do an actual visit, and I would love to stay here as long as I can.

Place to visit, source
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/travel/top-10/top-10-things-to-do-in-bucharest/
