Lose Yourself-Eminem

This song makes me really proud of the fact that I accomplished so many things in my life despite all of the negative remarks I received, like "You are too weak to dunk" (happened about 2 months ago at my club basketball practice, spoken to me by a teammate). That makes me want to listen to this song and jump higher than anyone thought I could, even if I can't "technically" dunk, yet. This song's chorus literally says "You better lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it, you better never let it go, cause you only get one shot do not miss your chance to blow, cause opportunity comes once in a lifetime." To Eminem, it shows the tough childhood he had to endure while living in a trailer park. To me, this song is an ANTHEM for all of the challenges I had to endure throughout my life. It is the anthem for every sport that I play or have played in the 15 years of my life.

Confident-Demi Lovato

This song makes me motivated to build MY self esteem, not the self esteem of others. I have very low confidence in myself, and my mom always plays this song for me whenever I need a pick-me-up. I remember one time, my friend called me a bad name (this was in middle school, and we are not friends anymore) and I told my mom, who immediately played this song, which instantly made me happier about myself. Therefore, whenever I feel especially down on myself, I will put this song on, thanks to my mom, who introduced me to the song. The song's title is "confident" so it definitely speaks to me and makes me want to become a better person to myself.

This song always makes my mom cry whenever she hears it. The song is about how a guy is blessed to have a special someone in his life. I am what you would call a "miracle child" because my mom and dad tried very hard to have me, and eventually it played off. I love this song because it really shows me how I am an inspiration to many people, and how I can be a better person

Survivor-Destiny's Child

This song makes me proud that I did not give-up in the 3 years of therapy that I did when I was 4 years old. It was a hard thing to do at that age, so whenever I hear this song, it makes me happy that I "survived" therapy. The reason why I chose this song was because it was an anthem for all of those who "survived" the tough experiences of their lives, so it is definitely a motivational song for me to stay determined in all that I do.

Breath (2am)-Anna Nalick

This song was the very first song I ever sang. This was when I was about 4 years old and it marked a HUGE point in my life. This is because I could not form words and speak, even gibberish as toddlers my age did, so when I started to make sounds to the tune of this song, my mother started crying because it showed that all of my hard work in therapy was paying off. The song isn't about anything important that symbolizes something that happened in my life, but it is the first song/words that I had ever formed before I was 4-5 years old.

My dad used to sing this song to me before I went to bed every night when I was the ages 3-7. I remember distinctly that I sang this song with him like there was no tomorrow, and it was an important song to us both because it was a special moment that we both shared, and the song is about how a daughter made a father's life worth while, like how I made my dad's life worth living.
