• Respond to messages as quickly as possible
• Post in discussions and other communal spaces often
• Post consistent weekly updates (Monday announcements, Thursday grades, etc)
• Create birthday boards, student spotlights, exemplars
• Create a space for morning meetings, lunch bunches, coffee talk, etc... once a week (at same time) that are optional, and for ‘fun’ or just to talk and not instructional
• Verbal and posted praise and validation as often as possible
• "Circulate" your class (Scan Google Meet windows) during Independent Practice: smile, and nod as you look in on kids learning
• Create forums where students can reply to prompts and reply to at least 2 classmates with a response/feedback to keep their conversations going
• Ongoing/open study session forum for students to post and reply to each other any time
