It was influential and big because many of today's modern singers can trace back their success to Motown. Motown also made hit after hit and it is said that anybody who goes into Motown, leaves with a hit song or record. Its fame was known to many and big successful bands went to record at Motown such as the Rolling Stones. Not only did big bands record at Motown, but the record company had its own big bands and names. Motown also created the Motown sound, which was a new form of black music, designed to appeal to the white audience. Prior to Motown, black music was considered to be for blacks and white music for white.
