The book has a few settings. At the beginning he is in his aunt and uncles house. Then, harry goes to Diagon Ally to buy all his books and supplies for school. The main setting of the book is Hogwarts which is a castle for students learning about magic and how to use it.

The characteristics of Harry Potter are that he is brave, loyal, and humble. He is always brave when he is facing danger. He is loyal to his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and he cares a lot about them. He is humble because he does not try to seek attention.

It is about an 11 year old orphan named Harry Potter and he lives with his abusive aunt and uncle. One day after getting the mail for his uncle he notices he has a letter. He finds out that his can do magic and was accepted to one of the best wizarding schools in the world. He also soon learns that he has survived the killing curse when he was a baby and is call "The Boy Who Lived". After arriving to the school he meets his two new best friends. They find out the school is hiding "The Sorcerer's Stone" which grants immortality and they think someone is trying to steal it. The three decide to go try to stop them but when doing that they face a lot of dangerous challenges. Then Harry finds one of his teachers trying to steal the stone. There is a parasite living in the teachers body and the parasite is the person who tried to kill Harry when he was a baby. He stops him and protects the stone. He goes back to his abusive aunt and uncles house and can't wait for his next year at Hogwarts.

"Harry your a wizard" I like this one because Harry finally knows that he is a wizard and moves the story along.(page 50)
"They don't know we're not allowed to use magic at home. I'm going to have a lot of fun with Dudley this summer" I like this one because it is funny he will use his magic on his cousin.(page 309)
"Sunshine, daises, butter mellow, Turn this stupid, fat rat yellow" It is funny because he was trying to turn his rat yellow but nothing happened.(page 105)
