Suppose you took on a new position on the softball field and your first game is approaching and your softball coach put you in that position on game day.

Stage 1) Before the game begins , you begin to think of every thing that could go wrong during the game. So you begin to get nervous and your heart begins rushing.

Stage 2) To calm yourself you begin to think about anything else , and telling yourself not to over think anything and just calm down.

Stage 3) When the game begins, you feel yourself getting nervous again and your heart is racing very fast again. Through out the game you are making mistakes because your mind is not right and begin to feel depressed because of all the mistakes that were made.
