The chapter started with a fight between a drunk woman and ada, ada got hurt and took the girls to stay on Old Rod’s farm for one night. After investigation Grace got a serious leg infection and got sent by air to Adelaide for further treatment. During this period, she also got the measles, Old Rod and some of her aunties also came to visit her. Then after some months she successfully went back home to the mission.

After she’s back home (on the mission) her grade became better because of the education she received during when she was at the children’s hospital back in Adelaide and she eventually got more people who is jealous of her. On that day the superintendent bring more people ( a mob of people who speaks an different aboriginal language) and she met a friend from that mob called ‘Ooji’ but that also means Grace got more teased and rude words said to her because she have a fairer skin colour.

When Old rod took Grace and her big sister (Eva) to the farm to stay for a night during that time he had a car crush and Old Rod is very scared of the girls getting hurt, then after they arrived to the farm they accidently heard the conversation between Old Rod and his wife Mrs. Williams, he said : ‘ I could of lost my 2 daughters.”, grace and Eva were shocked but they quickly accepted the fact that Old Rod is their father and is happy.

Old Rod gave the sisters a baby sheep and asked them to take good care of it. But the other kids on the mob wanted to play with dolly (the lamb’s name) and the lamb got scared so grace got angry and got into a fight, because there were so many kids so grace got hit and can’t even get up (so she stated swearing and said every swear word she knows). She got into a fight with ada because of her swearing and she accidently told ada about her knowing who her real father was (Old Rod) and said that ada is a big liar. Old Rod come to visit and after he came out of ada’s room he spoke with Grace and Eva, Grace thought Old Rod is going to say stuff about her swearing, but he cried instead and sins about the things he did and promised to give the sisters and their mother (Ada) a better life.

1 year later, Grace and Eva are on the farm more often, and Mrs Williams are not that grumpy to the girls, Mrs Williams is even keen to teach them how to knit and they’ve learnt a lot of things that they can’t learn on the mission. Old Rod went to Adelaide to see his lawyer and so Dave and Aunt Mim is taking care of them. On the next day, Old Rod passed away in Adelaide at his sister’s place because of heart attack, ada and the girls are very sad.
