My students benefit from having the agenda and what they are supposed to be doing written down. This allows for them to refer back to when I prompt them if they get off task.

This is a procedure that students can understand and comprehend through repetition. The reason I like this is because it can prevent the attitude you get from students who may think you are raising your voice at them. Instead of verbally telling students to be quiet, this is a non-verbal procedure that helps students get back on task.
