After asking several of her coworkers and her daughter, they realized that the machine was a generator for the power to the city. As it turned out the man later died of a knife wound in the back. the man's name was Morton Leringer, a local millionaire developer who was trying to stop the infamous terrorist group that went by the name of FreeNow. The terrorists goal was to cut the city's power via the power generators.
