We take a behind the scene look at one of the students that cares about the wellness center. These are the people that students can go to for support whether that is emotional, financial and with their studies. In the description they use a very emotional description to explain what they are. Anyone who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help and cannot cope without their support. If we lean into the more emotional side of what these cares do and how they help the students I think we can have a really emotional doc.

The wellness centre has a hotline and an email address students can call to raise their concerns. It would be an interesting idea to follow one the operators to see what they’re day to day life is like. This could either lead to an emotional story where we get to see what they have to deal with and how they handle students coping with uni life, or information and seeing the usefulness of having a helpline on campus.

Accommodation help, This one would more be about the accommodation and the people who manage it as we follow those who come into students accommodation and repair dangers or file complaints about living areas. It would be a good insight to see what the most common problems students face. This takes a little inspiration from the documentary previous students made where we follow the care taker of the campus and what they do.

Overall Idea

3 minute short documentary where we explores topics of mental healths and how students cope with uni life and the people who help them find there place. It will follow Students as they open up about how the wellness centre helps them and the cares who support the students and what they do to help.

Structure

The documentary will open with a carer from the wellness centre talking about what issues students will face while at university which will then lead into the next interview with student (identities will stay anonymous) opening up about what the wellness centre did for them and how it helps students.

Emotion

we want to dive into students and how they deal with anxiety depression and other forms of mental health. Gen Z has the highest percentage of people who suffer from mental health and with most of these students living away from home for the first time, now is a very venerable time which is why we want to talk about so those who suffer in silence know that there is someone to talk too.
