When Ruth is reflecting on her immigrants experience , She talk's about her dad threats " 'I'm a citizen and you're not. I can send you back to Europe anytime I want ' " (page 16). Why I chose this quote its because her dad doesn't care about her mother and only cared about himself.

How does the meaning of a text change as you reread it?
On page 87 James reflects Jewishness. As I reread, I learned that the mom cared about education more then religion.
Which of your personal experiences or memories is affecting your perceptions of the story?
In the book James was born and grew up in New York and has to take the bus, and subways.While me growing up in San Diego North Country I also take the bus something but prefer walking.
Does the text hold the same opinion or perspective of the world as you have?
In chapter 4 when James punch a kid on the face on the bus because he was sacred of the black panther. I disagree because James was little at the time and influenced of the media about the black panther.
