Biklé talks about her research into the relationship between the soil microbiome and the human gut microbiome and the way it impacts on the human immune system to protect us against cancers and modern lifestyle diseases. Montgomery explains the plant-soil microbiome symbiosis and why we need to transition to agriculture that nurtures it.

And, of course, the plant-microbiome relationship is the way we sequester carbon drawn from the atmosphere in the soil. It's the way we restore the carbon cycle, and, therefore, the hydrological cycle. It's a win-win for the planet and humans.
