He adopted a new method of business called vertical integrations, which meant that Carnegie bought all of the companies that helped make steel (coal industry, smelting industry, etc.). Carnegie was Laissez Faire because the government let him do what he needed to in order to get rich.</div>]]></description>

This would last for 10 years, and then after would be put in place again for another 50 years. This is progressive because it meant that there were not any foreigners threatening people's jobs. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Homestead Strike (June 30th 1892)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One of the labor unions that worked under Carnegie rebelled because of unfair working conditions and very low wages. The labor union fought against the army Henry Frick ordered to fight the rebellers. 6 of the people that rebelled died and 4 of the army died, after ending with no sides winning. The government then sent 8000 militia men to put down the rebellers. This is progressive because the labor unions were fighting to gain their rights, but also Laissez Faire because the government listened to Carnegie instead of the people.</div>]]></description>

The 21st amendment was then signed in to amend the 18th amendment because many people were dying because of prohibition. There were many new innovative things to buy, and most people bought them with credit because they did not have the money. This led to a lot of credit, but not enough money to pay off the credit. This was a progressive idea because many thought that it would help the people buy the things they needed while not having the money at that moment in time.</div>]]></description>

Banks do not have much money on hand because it is not stored in a vault, but used for other reason such as paying for roads. The stock market crash was Laissez Faire because the government did not do anything to prevent it in the first place.</div>]]></description>
