Dickens used symbolism when he shows Uncle Joe as a simple man who works as a blacksmith. He also uses personification metaphors when describing Ms. Havisham who was left at the alter and now wears her old wedding dress. 6. This book is a classic and can be read by any high school or college student. The story is slow at first, but the ending is satisfying.

The plot of The Girl on the Train follows the main character, Rachel Watson. Rachel is a divorced woman struggling with alcoholism. Every day, she takes the same train that passes by her old house, where her ex-husband lives with his new family. She becomes interested in a perfect couple she sees from the train. When suddenly one of them disappears and Rachel becomes a part of the investigation, but due to her unreliable memory and her heavy drinking, she becomes a suspect.

The main character Rachel Watson is a divorced alcoholic. Throughout the book, she tries to uncover memories that were lost due to heavy drinking. She becomes obsessed with a seemingly perfect couple and when one of them goes missing she becomes part of the investigation. Megan is the girl who goes missing. Megan feels conflicted in her marriage and finds her husband overprotective. She has multiple affairs and one day goes missing. She struggles with the grief of the death of her brother and daughter.

Overall the theme in The Girl on the Train is betrayal. Throughout the book, Rachel continues to be betrayed by the other characters. She uncovers lies they have told and secrets they kept.

"The train is a moving mirror, reflecting my own fractured life" - This is a example of a metaphor it is comparing the train to a mirror representing rachels broken life.

"Ashbury is a 1960s new town, spreading like a tumor over the heart of Buckinghamshire." - This is a simile comparing the growth of Ashbury to a spreading tumor. A pile of clothing - This a symbol showing death by train or just death. Early in the book Rachel saw a pile of clothing by the train tracks and a couple of days later a girl was missing.

You should read this book if you like a mystery. You should not read this book if you like action or need something to keep you invested.

Mort is a slow in the head farm kid who is roped into being Deaths apprentice. Throughout the book he learns more about the true nature and rules of existence; that there are none. During his apprenticeship, however, he accidentally stops an important political assassination, and time stops moving correctly.

Mortimer (Mort) is a tall scrawny farm kid, who is at first unintelligent and naive. And Death is the personification of death, appearing as a skeletal man with a sword (sometimes a scythe). Throughout the novel you learn that death is surprisingly empathetic and one of the only forms of justice in discworld.

Despite primarily being a comedy, Mort does have some surprisingly sincere themes. Obviously, death is that theme, but as well as the importance of platonic and romantic relationships, and how you live your life. We see a lot of this throughout the main titular character, Mort, but as well as through Death himself.

Discworld as a whole is abundant with personification, with Death being an obvious example. "Breath made fountains of cloud in the still air" and "Under its bath of alcohol his brain kept trying to grab his attention"

If you think you would like a comedy with odd humor, but sincere themes as well. Mort is a great read. I really enjoyed it.

Grace is a young girl who loves horseback riding. After a devastating accident that left her best friend dead, she struggles to recover emotionally. Grace's journey of learning to heal and find her happiness and love for horseback riding again with the help of Pilgrim and Tom Booker is touching. 

Tom Booker is the infamous horse whisperer who is known for his unique ability to communicate with and heal troubled horses. He lives a quiet life on a ranch in Montana. Tom's gentle and patient nature helps him connect with both animals and people. He plays a crucial role in helping Grace and Pilgrim recover from their trauma. 

 The overall theme of "The Horse Whisperer" is healing and recovery. This theme is important because it highlights how people and animals can overcome trauma through compassion, patience, and strong relationships. 

 Symbolism- Pilgrim, the horse, symbolizes Grace's trauma and recovery. As Pilgrim heals, so does Grace, reflecting their intertwined journeys. 

In the book, Katniss has agreed to being the mockingjay which is the symbol of the rebellion. Many things occur like the brainwashing of peeta and some issues with herself on what she thought about either side of the rebellion. But later on after finally reaching the capitol, katniss kills President Coin instead of getting Snow due to her change in what she saw in the rebellion, but after she chooses to return to go back to her original district and make a life with Peeta.

A player I have chosen to describe is Katniss. Even though there isn't a high description in the book, she is a weak looking teen with dark brown hair.

Another player would be Peeta, in the book and the other ones of the series, he has blue eyes with a stocky build.

A theme that I found in the book was that a war has many consequences to it. I find this one important mainly because it is a theme that is even seen out of the book shows that a war has so much destruction.

Another form of imagery seen is when district 12 was described as it was mostly in ruins.

An example of imagery seen in the book was when it is described where the children were bombed in the capitol.

An example of a metaphor was when Katniss agrees to being the mockingjay, which is she is compared to a symbol.

I would recommend for someone that is into books with thrill and action to read this. I would not recommend this book for people who are specifically not into that stuff and more interested in comedy and similar things.

The overall theme of The Hunger Games is the power of survival, sacrifice, and the effects of power and cruelty. It highlights how harsh governments manipulate people for entertainment and control, reflecting how the people are at the cost of inequality and violence. This theme is important because it urges readers to question social structures, the consequences of muffling violence, and the power of resistance to a dictatorship.

Collins used symbolism with the Mockingjay pin. The bird symbolizes rebellion, freedom, and hope, which appear throughout the story. Personification is used when the Capitol is humanized, often depicted as a living and cruel being that controls the Districts. The Capitol is seen as a controlling and dreadful place, referred to as a monster that feeds off of destruction, This is the use of a metaphor.

The Hunger Games is great for readers who enjoy dystopian fiction and themes of survival, power, and rebellion. It may not be good for younger readers, as there are graphic scenes.

The plot: The story of Lonesome Dove is about two aging Texas rangers, Woodrow Call and Augustus "Gus" McCrea. They go on a tough cattle drive from Texas to Montana. They face a very harsh landscape, life-threatening encounters with Native Americans, and many other dangerous things.

Introduce Two characters with a description- Gus is a very happy-go-lucky guy who wants to enjoy the little things in life. He's tall and scrawny and has a mustash and blue eyes. Woodrow is known as the "Captain" he is always serious and quiet. He's a taller guy who is a lot taller than Gus. He has a grey beard and blue eyes.

The overall theme of Lonesome Dove- The overall theme of Lonesome Dove to to encourage the readers to live their best life and enjoy the little things in it. It also asks readers to live the best way possible.

The Cowboys represent the American spirit. For example, they show the hard reality of life and how to push through. The open plains- The author's description of the open plains creates a feeling like you are there with them. It also reflects the lives of the characters. For example, he describes the plain with words that truly bring out the beauty of the plains.

I think everyone should read Lonesome Dove because it makes life look different. You can see the little things in life and enjoy the ups and downs.

The plot: The story of Ghost Town Living is about this guy Brent Underwood bought an abandoned mining town called Cerro Gordo. His plans for this town is to rebuild to so people can come vist and see the history for themselves. This book is about what he has done already and the years hes lived there and talking about the history of the mine, and what he has planned for the town.

2 characters from this book is Brent Underwood and he has a get things done attitude and he likes going down in the mine and exploring everything. The second person is William Burro Schmidt he had a dream and he was gonna get his dream done even if it killed and it did.

the overall theme is the history and the future of Cerro Gordo what will happen and what has happened and to never give up on anything if you do there is no way youll ever make it.

when William Burro Schmidt dug threw the mountain to find gold. When Brent bought the gold mine to prove that if you work for some evencealy it will happen. the hotel burt town so he building a new one. you cant let the set backs ruin everything just gotta keep going and fix things as they happen.

I think anyone who enjoys the history of gold mines and ghost towns should read it. there is alot of great things in the book.

Plot - Lina and Doon help their people out of the underground city known as Ember, and they go and find a new village above ground called Sparks. They must figure out how to live life above the ground with the people of Sparks showing and teaching them how, until tension starts to break out between the two cities. Then a fight between the two cities eventually leads to peace and then these two cities then become one.
