         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Amplitude </strong>- AM radio waves have a variable amplitude, but FM radio waves have a constant amplitude.<br><strong>Speed</strong> - speed of light.<br><strong>Frequency </strong>- between 3 GHz and 3 kHz.<br><strong>Wavelength</strong> - between 1 millimeter and 100 kilometers.<br><strong>Example 1</strong> - AM radio. AM radio waves are used to carry commercial radio signals in the frequency range from 540 to 1600 kHz. They have a constant frequency but varying amplitude.<br><strong>Example 2</strong> - FM radio. FM radio waves are also used for commercial radio transmission, but in the frequency range of 88 to 108 MHz. They have a constant amplitude but varying frequency.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Amplitude </strong>- they can have any amplitude.<br><strong>Speed</strong> - speed of light.<br><strong>Frequency</strong> - between 3 MHz and 3 GHz.<br><strong>Wavelength</strong> - between 1 meter and 1 millimeter.<br><strong>Example 1</strong> - point-to-point telecommunications. They are easily focused, more so that radio waves. This makes them great for non-broadcast wave transmission uses.<br><strong>Example 2 </strong>- microwave oven. Microwave radiation causes objects to heat up. This is used in microwave ovens to heat up food.</div>]]></description>

It is used to see when no visible light is present. Night vision gear uses infared waves to intercept photons and convert them into light humans can see.<br><strong>Example 2 </strong>- thermography. Infared waves can be used to visually map one's surroundings. This is often utilized by animals such as snakes to see.</div>]]></description>

Color is an integral part of modern computer and television screens. Visible light is relied on to translate a string of information into an image we can see.<br><strong>Example 2</strong> - MRI scanners. Despite using many types of light in a scan, MRIs do still rely on visible light for some assessments. It is used in a myriad of scans and tests.</div>]]></description>

These can be used for any variety of reasons. Most commonly, they're used to see "invisible" ink. <br><strong>Example 2</strong> - vitamin D production. UV radiation stimulates vitamin D production in humans. Vitamin D is a necessary compound for life.</div>]]></description>

Gamma rays can be used to alter the molecular composition of some elements. This is most commonly done to transform white topaz into blue topaz.<br><strong>Example 2</strong> - cancer treatment. The rays themselves can cause cancer. They are also, however, very proficient in attacking and killing existing cancer cells.</div>]]></description>
