Electrical Energy is a type of energy carried by charged particles. As us humans we need Electrical Energy to do most things in this world. For instances, we need the light to see where we are going and to use different things that need Electrical Energy. For example, a light bulb has electrical energy. The electrical energy the light bulb is used to produce light. A battery is another example of electrical energy because there are electrical particles in the battery which can charge up anything that needs electrical energy.

Whenever the temperature is increased on a substance the particles will increase speed. The amount of thermal energy in a substance has to do with its temperature along with the amount of matter is in there. A microwave also has thermal energy when it's in use. When heating up some type of food the microwave uses the thermal energy to increase the temperature of the food. The particles would be also increasing speed as well.

As us we do need Sound energy to hear things. An example is an airplane taking off. When dropping a ball on the ground it also creates sound energy. These are examples of sound energy because the sound waves travel through matter like the plane and the ground.

Energy can flow through a system. For example, in this picture of the PhET lab there is a system with the person on the bike, the wheel, generator, water heater, and the water tank. The chemical energy from the person flows to the wheel turning into mechanical energy. After the energy becoming mechanical energy, it then becomes electric energy from the generator to power the heater. Then the heater produces thermal energy for the water. In addition, during the process of energy flow in the ecosystem, plants are the producers. With the help of chloroplasts, a part of it is transformed. It's transformed into chemical energy in the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process of making glucose (sugar).

The word "work" in the topic of energy means, applying a force to move or change something. Energy can interact with physical objects and cause them to move or change. Energy can also be used to maintain a process or carry out an action. Rolling a ball causes the ball particles to do work and create kinetic energy. Kinetic energy is energy of motion. But if you were just holding a ball it would be potential energy. This type of energy is stored, and it is waiting to be use.
