I was very nervous for this trip and had no idea what to expect. I went in having a little faith in God but I came out with a faith on fire. I grew closer with new people and learned what it meant to truly help the less fortunate. I learned to be confident in who I am as a person, which helped especially because it was the summer before freshman year. My whole life all I knew was swimming and the swimming lifestyle, which kept me very closed minded. When I switched to running I broadened my  horizons and was introduced to some of my best friends. I was also able to find a sport I truly loved which was a change go pace for me.
