He was born on April 26, 1564 to John Shakespeare and Mary Arden in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire and was the 3rd of 8 children. He got married at the young age of 18 to a woman named Anne Hathaway and had three kids named Susanna, Hamnet, and Judith. He started off as an actor but went on to write his famous plays such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth; all highly regarded in English literature.

Othello was written by William Shakespeare. It is famous for diving deep into jealousy and manipulation. The character Othello is a powerful and respected figure. He is prone to insecurities due to his race and age. Iago is the villain of the story and is known for his demise of Othello. Iago wants to take revenge against Othello throughout the play. He tries to convince Othello that his wife, Desdemona, is not faithful. Othello allows jealously to overcome him and kills his wife, then kills himself. Also, this play is one of the most earlier forms of art that include topics such as racial injustice.

The Elizabethan Era was the period of time England was under Queen Elizabeth's reign, which took place during 1558-1603.
Historians often refer to it as the golden age in English history. It is considered to be a time of English Renaissance, a time that saw the flowering of poetry, music, and literature. This era has been widely romanticized in movies, plays, and books.
Daily life in the Elizabethan Era focused mainly on the lives of wealthy nobles, which made up only 3% of England's population. And the rest of it were poor peasants that did not live a luxurious life and had to work hard just to earn a little bit of money. There are not many accounts of peasant life since most were uneducated and so writing was not apart of their lives.
