Banquo is killed by the murders Macbeth hires appearing as violence. As he dies, he warns his son Fleance to flee for his safety and charges him to someday revenge his father's death adding on to violence.

" That I require a clearness. And with him, To leave no rubs nor botches in the work, Fleance, his son that keeps him company, whose absence is no less material to me, Than is his father's, must embrace the fate Of that Dark hour." (3. 1. 135-140)

Macbeth sees Banquo as a threat because of the Witches prophecy. For Macbeths safety, he decides to hire two murderers, to murder both Banquo and his son Fleance because once they are gone, he will not have to worry showing fate

After the death of Banquo, Macbeth starts to feel paranoid and guilty, as a result he sees a ghost as if it was Banquo. The ghost is a reminder of his actions that he must live with showing appearance vs reality.

Macbeth fears Banquo because of the witches' prophecy saying that Banquo's descendants will be kings rather than Macbeth's. Macbeth sees this as a threat and must protection himself and his position showing ambition

After the two murders follow through with the plan, they are not fully successful showing fate. They inform Macbeth that Fleance escaped. He is afraid but must worry later as he has guests to entertain.

At the feast, Macbeth starts speaking to a ghost but to everyone else is nothing showing the unnatural. Lady Macbeth discusses that this is an illness and reassures everyone so they will not leave.

First Murder: "Let it come down" (3. 3. 24)

The three murderers must now go through with Macbeths plan. The first murderer gives a signal to attack Banquo and Fleance within Violence.

All three witches decide to meet up with Hecate but appears to be in a bad mood. After discovering that the witches gave the prophecy's to Macbeth without consulting her first. She says they will meet again in the morning where they will tell Macbeth his 'destiny' but will lead him to some confusion.

Meeting with the Lord, Lennox discuss his doubts of Macbeths actions and starts to gain suspicion on him having appearance vs reality. Both men suspect Macbeth, whom they call a “tyrant,” in the murders of Duncan and Banquo.
