Eco-community garden:

The retiree can volunteer to help take care of the plants to occupy their tune meaningfully. They can also get veggies to cook for themselves.

Active Health Lab:

Essential to help the retiree maintian their health.

Wellness centre:

Helps the retiree avoid loneliness and make friends, especially given they are living alone.

Clinic:

A branch of changi general hospital, the retiree can get any and all medical help they need.

Silver Generation Office:

Made especially to help seniors like the retiree in any way necessary.

Ample seating:

Necessary for OTH to be accessible to seniors like the retiree.

Library:

The retiree can enjoy reading books abd have fun at the library.

Festive Arts theatre:

The retiree can occupy their evenings meaningfully by taking in culture.

Hawker centre:

The large number of stalls and presence of budget meals helps the retiree eat well for low prices.

Service centre:

Helps the retiree with any and all administrative needs.

I would appreciate the presence of facilities for young children such as the playground and the tuition centre, which gives them a place to play and learn while the parents do other things and are unable to look after them at the time.

As a working adult, I would appreciate how all the services are close to one another and easily accessible. As I may not have a lot of time, it would be a lot more convenient to be able to go to multiple agencies in a short span of time, eg. after work.

And also the very wide variety of affordable food

There are many facilities that cater to people in wheelchairs such as ramps and the wheelchair swing. There is also an abundance of railings/handholds for people whose movement may be impaired. The numerous benches and seats scattered everywhere around the hub also provides places for people with disabilities to rest.

I would suggest moving walkways, since OTH will be used by not just children but elderly, and they bith may have trouble walking such a large distance.

There are solar panels at the top of the building so some of the facilities are being powered by renewable energy. The OTH doesn't use aircon, which reduces the amount if energy needed. Food waste from the hawker centres are also recycled, so lesser food waste will be generated.

Playground: A safe and fun playground with slide, swings, spinny thing, trampoline and also tv nearby to entertain adults

Swimming Pool: Swimming pool for family to bond together

Childcare centre: can send children there

Library: library with children books (I hope) and also a playground inside

Q1: I appreciate facilities such as the indoor running track, the multi-agency service centre (which combines services from multiple ministries such MOM, MOF, LTA and CPF), and the ActiveSG gym as they allow me to keep active and makes running errands convenient as all the service branches are in one location.

Q2: I would like to see more art-centric facilities as well as sporting facilities as enjoying the arts is another important aspect of de-stressing in addition to sports. It is often easier to organise a day out to watch a movie/show/play and get a meal with my office colleagues rather than organising a sports day for bonding events.

theres lots of neat things in this place! one of which has gotta be the playground; not only is it level ground which makes it easier to navigate, there’s also a swing dedicated towards people in wheelchairs so that they can play as well. the benches throughout are also designed such that i can park at its side, especially the hawker centres. lots of minor details (like handicapped parking lots, water coolers that are reachable from shorter heights) also help a lot too.

Q1 As a parent with young children in the family, I am very impressed by Tampines Hub as there are so many services that cater to my children. For example, on level 2, there is a playground (built with many features such as rounded edges and flat ground) that allow my children spend their free time joyously. The tuition nearby is one that I also find suitable for my children.

Q2 However, I feel that Tampines Hub could be even better if they had more children friendly restaurants with kids meals.

i think some more wider escalators/elevators around would be nice. this place is pretty big, and sometimes the walkway isn’t enough for everyone. i feel having those would definitely let us have an easier time getting around.

Roofs are equipped with solar panels that are eco friendly and help power the hub. Theres also a pillow roof that helps reduce atmospheric temperature by up to 2degrees. This combined with the urban design that allows for more ventilation and the fans in the hub eliminates the need for aircon.

Recycling of food : Food waste from the f&b outlets are sent to the wormery or the food waste processor -> worms eat the food waste and digest it, turning them into organic fertiliser through their excretion. Food waste is transported to the recycling centre and deposited into HybridSystem, which is then organic fertiler, liquid nutrients or non potable water. -> used to fetilise soil in the eco farm, or make the hydroponics rich in nutrients. The grown fruits and veggies are then given to f&b or residents.

As a concerned youth climate changer activist i appreciate the sustainability of this eco cycle
