My First Design

When I started my tinkercad project, I experimented with different shapes to find the right fit for the blade. I started stretching the triangle's dimensions to be very thin and long. I researched the best designs for a wind farm blade and took the advice. For example, the best amount of blades you can have is 3 blades. I then tried a new shape called the icosahedron. I stretched the shape out into long blades and pasted each step of the design so everything would be parallel. However, I had more than 3 blades and didn't tilt my blades. After a couple of revising, I had my first design ready for 3D printing.

The 3D Printer and My New Idea

When I had it checked by Mr.Lougameno, I sent the design to him so he could print it in his classroom. While it was printing, I worked on the website project Mr.Lougameno assigned us instead. After a couple of days, my design successfully printed, but not what I expected. The blades seemed smaller than on the computer. Additionally, when Mr.Lougameno tried to remove it from the plate for testing, it broke apart. My classmates gave me suggestions about how to make my design better. When I experimented with different shapes, I decided to try using a new shape called a round roof. I started to use the shape with my wind farm blade.

Making My 2nd Design

My new design is something very different from an ordinary wind farm blade. All blades are made to be sharp and tilted. I had a idea if I improved the wind's power on the wind farm by having a shape that is hollow enough to be pushed by the wind. I cut the round roof to make it arc more thin, so the wind would push more. My goal is to make the best by possibly using my blade on low wind power to lift the binder clip. Only 2 students in Mr.Lougameno's class has ever done this feat. Even though it is rare, I feel very confident that the design will work. Until then, I have to wait until Mr.Lougameno comes back to 3D print my design.

My 3rd Design and the End

After the 3D design printed, it was thinner and smaller. I took advantage of the class's advice and added it to my work. There was a lot of automatic supports during the prints that I had to pick off. It hurt, but the blade needed to succeed. When the class tested the blade, Mr.Lougameno was absent and was replaced by Mr.Candia as a temporary substitute. I tried attaching the blade to the pencil and it wouldn't fit. I don't understand how it couldn't since I asked one of my classmates that had a practically perfect shape of the hole. The blade didn't work and I have more work to do before the end of cycle
