Three groups, agree, diagree,and devil's advocate to develop critical thinking by exploring a topic from multiple perspectives.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>2. Language focus:</strong></p><p>The debate topic focus more on <mark>functional language skills.</mark> For example,<mark> I agree</mark> to go to school at 8:00 am. <strong><mark>Because</mark></strong> I think we can have more time to have breakfast at home. And breakfast is very important.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>3. Principles</strong></p><p>We think the task is <mark>purposeful</mark> because each group has to do their job. It's <mark>authentic </mark>because everyone has different opinions in daily life. The task is also <mark>interactive</mark> and <mark>productive</mark>. Students need to interact with each other and produce language to express their thoughts. The task, however, is a little bit <mark>more challenging</mark> for students because our students' language ability is limited.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>4. Adaptation</strong></p><p>Debate could be a challenge for primary students as they have limited vocabulary and need support of developing critical thinking skills. We could simplify the speaking activity to two groups of pros and cons, and provide guided sentence structures and a word bank. Also, we could choose topics that are relevant to their life experiences.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

The chant helps students learn <strong>new words </strong>while improving their <strong>listening and speaking </strong>skills in an enjoyable way.</p><p>To engage students, different activities will be created for various groups. The <strong>singing group</strong> will sing the chant together, <strong>the drawing group</strong> will illustrate ideas from it, <strong>the acting group</strong> will perform skits, and <strong>the dancing group </strong>will move to the chant by playing and stopping at key moments.</p><p>Additionally, the activity promotes inclusive education by accommodating different learning styles.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>*How did you feel in PT?</strong><br>When I was on stage, I felt that everyone respected the teacher, with focused eyes on the instructor. During the activities, everyone was serious and cooperative with the teacher, which made me enjoy teaching even more.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>*What are you most proud of?</strong><br>Based on peer feedback, I believe the best part of my teaching was using fingertips to teach the syllabus, using gestures to support meaning, adding rhythm with the sentence pattern, and practicing sentence patterns through catchy beats.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>*What might you do differently next time?</strong><br>When students first practice saying “I like ___ (sports),” I can let the whole class recite the question part “What sports do you like?” I can demonstrate with a student before the students stand up. This can help them focus more on the explanation.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>*What questions still remain for you?</strong> </p><p>In elementary schools, listening and speaking are often the most challenging skills for students to learn, especially in the EFL context. I think it's a good idea to let students pay attention the song. </p><p>Second, story reading a aloud technique I experienced on the course is fantastic.
