Essential Question # 1: How can poetry be used as a tool (way) to express one’s emotions/feelings/ideas?

It is usually easier to write in general about one’s
emotions/feelings/ideas then talking about them. This is also true for me. Writing has it's limits however as you can't express the same emotion as much compared to saying things out loud in person. You can try though.

When I start writing about something I can sometimes write about whatever is on their mind at the time. Most of the time it's random but sometimes it's about past events that I would like to share. I found it easier to write down my thoughts and feelings than saying them in person.

If We Must Die By: Claude McKay

Analysis:
After analyzing the Big Six elements I found that Claude McKay used the elements from speaker and theme. He as the speaker is trying to show how when you fight back you have to be brave, have honor, be loyal and have dignity. Lines in the peoms like "If we must die, O let us nobly die" and "Though far outnumbered let us show us brave" shows the main idea of the poem is fighting back and dying with dignity. If they much die they must die in honor.
