Because of my undergraduate degree in Architecture, I have always paid particular attention to the relationship between people and the environment and urban space. I originally wanted to start buying cardboard to make my model and then take photos to complete my project. As I wrote in the previous reflective writing, the world is taking a step towards virtualization, which reminds me of Roberto Aizenberg's paintings. The inhumane buildings surround us in our homes. Every window is the same size, and the urban street view is no longer for us. Importantly, our world is all shrunk in the small space of a home, facing the dark void. We have nobody in this city, and the ground has stretched without ups and downs, which is an eternal planet. The paintings also remind me of Aldo Rossi's architecture and fascist architecture. They used modern styles to try to create a sense of sublime order, which made people feel very scary. I want to make some of these models, and then create a scene in the city to the extremes during the epidemic. But after thinking about it, I feel that this approach is too conceptual first. It looks like a distance from our actual life, just the imagination of an extreme pessimistic world. I think my work should have more real feelings, so I got into trouble from the beginning. I was not in Wuhan but worried about the city every day, and I was looking forward to it recovering.
