What is your understanding of racism, ethnicism and colorism?

- It is both supportive and overarching ideological narrative for discriminational and deprivational structures in production relations

- Racism to me is discriminating others for being Africans, Occident, Semites or Orient. Ethnicity is all about people of the same race discriminating each other on tribal lines or clanism. Yet colourism would mean creating barriers out of skin complexity.

- Discrimination on skin color and nationality

- Degradating practice of expression of identity through collective and individual oppressive behavior towards different.

- These are concepts that have come about because some people insist on benefiting from inequality and maintaining this inequality has been so prevalent that it was put in our everyday lives.

- Any act or statement that degrades the dignity of any person on the basis that he/she is of the degree of below you and harms an individual or group only because he belongs to a group that has a color, language, customs and culture different from you.

- That all three are systems that promote superiority over other humans. A separation of peoples, a practice of difference.

- forms of exclusion for ethnic reasons, skin color or physical characteristics.

- I understand them as forms of discrimination. Racism in my context can refer to different tendencies and slightly different concepts, with progressively broader meanings. The narrower definition sees racism as the belief that there are different human races. It is often combined with the belief that some of this races are superior to others or that there are specific behavioral/psychological/cultural traits or attitudes connected with belonging to one race or another. It can also often connect with the idea that members of the same "race" share genetic similarities, common ancestors or similar physical traits, so of course it is connected with stereotypes and prejudices. As such, it already comprises acts or behaviors that discriminate individuals based on this racial belonging. A broader meaning extends racism to comprise every discriminatory act (behavior/law/...) that targets individuals based on their belonging to a group, not depending on the discriminator's specific beliefs, so it includes discrimination based on nationality, religion, etc... This broader meaning includes xenophobia and forms of ethnicism and colorism too.
Ethnicism is even more complex to describe for me, as in my native language concepts are clustered differently than how they are in English, and of course both languages are alive and constantly changing. Generally speaking it refers to any discrimination based on ethnic belonging. So it includes forms of ethnocentrism and manifest itself often as a form of essentialism. It overlaps with racism, especially when the belonging to an "ethnos", a group of people, includes physical traits and not just cultural aspects, language, traditions and shared history. In Italian it overlaps with the concept of nationalism. This is because "nazionalità" is a cultural belonging to a community, not depending on the legal status, and in Italian id cards and passports we write "cittadinanza" (so Citizenship, as the German Federal state writes Staatsbürgerschaft) where in English there is nationality (as well as in French where you have nationalitè). I pointed out this to underline I think it is not a matter of latin or germanic roots of the language, but of historical development linked to nation-states and rights connected. So in the current use of the term, ethnicity in Italian is becoming a "lesser noble nationality", used for people belonging to "nations without a nation state". If a Transilvanian person that speaks Hungarian as mother tongue might be defined and self-identifying as a Romanian citizen with Hungarian nationality (that's to say national identity), for people whose nation is not a state, like the Kurds, to say weather being kurdish is a nationality or an ethnicity is a political choice. And of course there are uses of the term that makes it quite blurry, in Italian as in English (like the fact "ethnic restaurant" in Italy is a label used for Chinese and Turkish restaurants, but not for French restaurants. Or if we think about the difficulties to distinguish and categorize what are races and what are ethnicities in US census, also because they keep changing in their meaning).
Colorism comprises forms of discrimination based on color, often referred to the color of the skin, but not exclusively. It includes also a hierarchic concept of human aesthetics and beauty, as in those contexts where lighter colors (of skin, hair,...) are preferred towards darker ones.
All these forms of discrimination have several dimensions, so I am sorry for simplifying, this answer is a compromise, I just didn't want to be too long since you have to read all of our answers. I thank you for taking the time to read all of this, whoever you are.

- Exclusion and domination in the service of perpetuating inequitable power structures

- Racism, discrimination and prejudice against the different other is a major problem that strikes the stability of societies, and it is a major cause of conflict and the outbreak of wars, and there are bitter, bitter global experiences about that.
The most important question remains: How can racism and discrimination in our societies be melted away?

- Prejudice is to judge with prior learning or imagination. Discrimination is to sideline, while racism is love or hate in consideration with the other(s) race; Caucasian, Mongoloid, Negroid. Some of these terms have become themselves abusive.

- They are mostly an inheritance of the "dark side" of European modernity, employed to justify colonial plunder and crime... nowadays it is the tool for justification of inequalities and deprivations imposed and maintained by global capitalist system

- When a "suspect category" is created and associated with certain stigmatisations.

- My understanding is probably superficial and basic due that all three phenomenon are based on limitations of understanding of life as core value for everything and everyone.
