dia de los muetos or day of the dadead a hispanic culture is a holiday that is equal parts pre-Hispanic spirituality and post-Conquest Catholicism. Day of the Dead is celebrated on Nov. 2 and corresponds with the traditional Catholic observance of All Souls' Day. On the days leading up to Nov. 2, indigenous families build colorful home altars dedicated to a deceased loved one. The altars are adorned with the departed’s favorite foods and drink and lavishly decorated with yellow and purple flowers. The belief, which reaches back to pre-Hispanic times, is that the recently departed has been living in a spiritual purgatory from which he or she will return home on Nov. 1, the Night of the Dead.

Did you know that Canada celebrates all the holidays most of us celebrate, (of course depending on religion.) but they have some extra holidays that they celebrate. Their two extra holidays are Canada Day, the anniversary of July 1st, 1867, the day when the enacment of the Constitution act, which united three seperate colonies of Canada. Another is called Boxing Day. Back then, Boxing Day was a day where people would give money to the poor, or people who didn’t have enough money. Today, Boxing Day is a day to spend time with friends and family, hang out together, and enjoy each other’s company, according to Culturegrams.com and Wikipedia.

A tradition that I think is native to Canada is Canada Day on July 1st, Canada Day is all about the history of two British groups Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and one British province, (the province of Canada) were united, (What we've learned about the British, it doesn't seem like it.) but now people go for picnics, barbecues, and fireworks at night, there is another holiday called Boxing Day (Which sounds like something on sports. :v) which is based on an old tradition where you give boxed presents to the poor.
- Gabriel :D (All of this was according to http://Culturegrams.org/)
