Technology's effect on Human Society

Humans have become reliant and attached to technology. You can hardly go to a restaurant or the mall without seeing half the people or everyone on their phones. With technology we have gained social media and people constantly feel the need to check Instagram or Snapchat. Technology also offers people online dating apps where they find "their perfect match," this takes away from an emotional connection to tell people about or to make sure you like them and not just the idea of them. Also, people place blind faith into technology matching age and interest to know who "matches." People's lives become insipid due to technology being a social barrier, humans can be in close proximity to each other and not make eye contact or speak except tot show them something on the phone. Technology could eventually creatte a world with repressed human connection and verbal communication.

Both technology and human nature affect the development of society. Technology has grown so much. For instance, we can communicate with others across the world with just the touch of a button. Technology has become such a huge part of peoples lives. It has even come to the point where some can not live without it. This need for technology pushes people to distance themselves from other people and only know how to talk through social media or texting. This could lead to our society being afraid to interact and collapse into there own bubble. Everyone will be afraid to voice there own thoughts because of how others might react.

In our society, we are developed by many different reasons by technology and it relates with how we interact. Some of these reasons include education using it in our schools as we grow and develop skills in order to be a well rounded student and ready to succeed when we get into the real world. However, in today's world we are constantly using our cell phones to check up on things. For instance, snapchat and instagram. These two things both play major roles in our youths interaction with other and how we go about things in our society. Nowadays we as people talk more on social media and aren't as talkative in person as we once were.

Human nature is to socialize and to survive. Technology helps with both of these things! With technology, humans are able to socialize among one another using various social medias. However, some of these communications can be used in dangerous ways. Sometimes people get harassed and preyed upon by others. Technology also helps people to survive. Humans use technology to order food and to buy weapons. However, some people use these things in evil ways. Some people are murderous and use weapons for things other than defense. Overall, the idea of technology is very helpful but in reality it is hurting many people, animals, and land. Technology makes it seem as though there are more health problem, death. Some people cannot keep their composure and say really mean things. Other people try to repress these mean comments which leads them to loathing in self-pity.

Beatty's quotation leaves the reader with meaningful questions. However, many people like to ask 'why' to many times in our society and don't specifically try to just do our objective or task. This is because in today's society, we have been shown to sit back and let everyone do things for us. Consequently, this has shown us that it's okay to let everything be done for us and we can just sit back and be lazy and not experience what it is like to live in the real world. People have been shown to only be exposed to good news and not the bad in our society. This is a major role player in why our society wants to always ask questions because they haven't experienced anything while they have grown up and matured and now they are point blank confused on what to do. The effect of people asking the question has shown that we will always be unhappy as long as we continue to not step up and do what we are told. To many people have been experienced in their lifetime to let things be done for them and now they are just gonna stay constantly unhappy. In summary, our society relates heavily to Beatty's quote because we as citizens ask why and it will continue to harm us as long as we may stick with it.

Children grow up with the fantasist of everything is good and there is no evil in the world. They are read stories of people living happily ever after and the "good" people always ending on top. They are never exposed to evil or have any real idea of how the world actually works. That is until they go out own there own and begin to question everything and actually experience life. With the questions comes the truth and the dark side of the world. They learn that everything is not always "good'. There is sadness and traditions in the world. So with the question "why" comes the unhappy, sad part of life.... the truth.

In society today, people do not want to know what is really happening in the world around them. People usually think that what's really happening could be something worse than what they thought. "Ignorance is bliss," is one of the ideas that feels the heads of those in society. An example would be wars. People usually do not want to know about wars because they live in constant fear of death, imprisonment, and being drafted into a war. People only usually know how to explain how to do something. When a question is brought up of why people do that, people do not know what to say or get defensive. There was once a video of a little boy asking why he needed to go to sleep early and why he needed to go to school. His mother was telling him many reasons, however the little boy kept asking why until his mother didn't have an answer. "Ignorance is bliss" is how most of society will always act.

"You ask why to a lot of things ad you wind up very unhappy indeed, if you keep at it." This quote mean if people are constantly asking questions the will find the true meaning of how the world operates and become unhappy. Also people even today go through learning how to preform a task because a higher power says we need that skill but if people repress questions such as' "why do we need this skill." If people would ask why weed need a skill their attempts at learning it would be more painstaking. Clarisse constantly asked questions about why something was the way it was but she was happy because she go to experience and learn more about the people and world around her.

Faber chooses this reading because Montag is confused and is in fear of conviction. Montag is afraid of being found guilty and is acting loss. Job is a reference to the Bible where he was suffering and it relates to Montag. He shows willingness to continue to hide his guilt and it will eventually prove to harm him. Job was suffering from God and this relates back to Montag because Montag is guilty of doing something and is guilty. This comes together because Faber knows Montag is guilty and is basically telling Montag that he needs to confess to his guilt.

Bradberry is portraying this hypocritically wisdom because he wants to prove that he is well read. He does this in order to show Montag he knows about him and what he as done. He says "didn't i know enough when i seen the hound around your place." However, the text from Beatty is contradicting Montag's honesty of saying he hasn't done anything, but he knows Montag has read. The reason this is hypocritical is because of the fact that Beatty is a reader and knows a lot about society and is over everyone and realizes Montag has a little knowledge. This proves to Beatty that Montag has read some because he had to get the knowledge from reading.

A railroad track symbolizes the wear down of something as it always last through whatever it may encounter. It represents history because it was used in the old days for transportation and trade. The railroad track relates to Montag because he is in a tough part in his life and and is trying to weather out this situation like a railroad track does through storms. This shows how Montag always can escape challenges that he faces and it shows relatedness to the track because a railroad track always stands the same through all the years in has encountered something. Montag always is able to come out on top unbothered and it shows his perseverance as a person and maybe points to the view that he may be surviving over and over for a reason. Montag maybe has a position to fill in society and like the railroad it will be a major part to it's society's success.

To me this shows that people in higher positions can do as they please. Beatty was trying to tell Montag that reading is bad and what he was doing was bad. However, by using works of literature, Beatty is only making Montag think that reading can actually help people. Beatty meant to prove to Montag that reading only makes people sad. He uses the tale of Icarus to explain to Montag why reading makes people sad. He says that Montag was like Icarus' son. Icarus told his sun not to fly too close to the sun or the wings would melt and he would die. In this case Montag "flew too close to the sun" because he read books even though he was told not to. I feel as though this is also foreshadowing that Beatty is going to try to kill Montag with the Hound. Beatty is trying to express that Montag is encumbering himself with books.

The original railroads in America helped to do many things. The railroads proximity to towns makes it good for transporting cargo. Many Americans became recipients due to railroads. In this moment in the book, Montag is holding a book and walking down the railroad. He is trying to get to a group of outcasts (people who read). In this case the railroad is almost like the "yellow brick road" and the outcasts are the "wonderful wizard of Oz." Montag must continuously walk down the "yellow brick road" until he finally finds the "wonderful wizard of Oz." Without the railroad Montag would be walking aimlessly. Most likely he would never be able to find the outcast.

Job, despite being recipient of suffering and his friends and wife constantly talking against God, remains faithful. Montag begun to have faith in books and Faber but Mildred and Beatty, as well as the world around him, tell him that books and the ideas they bring are bad. This quote shows that even though Beatty is affiliated with the fire department he is extremely well read and has grave knowledge of books. It is hypocritical for Beatty to tell Montag it is wrong of him to read when we have evidence the Beatty has read also. Bradbury may have been trying to say that even though people tell us that we shouldn't think certain idea that they most likely think of those exact ideas.
