The most important part of the Gilded Age was the mass urbanization and industrialization of America. With the surge of development in the steel and oil industries, the US grew to be the largest manufacturing country in the world. In addition to being on top of the market, the United States had to make many adaptions in society/infrastructure. More factories were built, buildings grew higher, and mass amounts of people began flooding cities looking for jobs, changing the demographics of the country forever.

The most important part of the Gilded Age is the economic development that occurred. There was rapid economic development in many areas, such as in steel, oil, and electricity. These economic developments led the United States to be one of the largest manufacturing economies in the world. Also, although monopolies such as Standard Oil may not have been great for workers, they went a long way in developing the industrial United States economy. Also, this economic development influenced the social conditions of the Gilded Age. For example, the factory system led to the development of tenements and terrible living conditions for immigrants, as well as Americans. The economic development that occurred in the Gilded Age shaped the economic and social structure of the United States for years afterwards.

These developments led to eventual near monopolies in certain industries as well as unions forming to fight for better working conditions, both institutions that will play a role in shaping a future America.

Urbanization was when urban areas exploded with overpopulation with former slaves, immigrants, and former farmers. This led to a series of problems such as not having clean water and tenement. This was a massive issue for everyone living in urban areas except for the top 1%. They would end up attempting to fix these problems and one way was by forming labor unions to give workers better rights

This resulted in the increase in capitalism and control of big businesses. Positive things resulted from this including the creation of new technology and inventions such as the telephone with Alexander Graham Bell. However, as a result of the industry increasing, the working conditions and living conditions of many were awful. This in turn led to the creation of unions and human rights issues.

Factories became bigger and increased in production, as well as increased in damaging the physical health of a good chunk of their own workers. More people began moving into cities due to the increasing amount of jobs in cities compared to rural America. Overall, the Gilded Age of America caused major impacts to everyday America society that still linger to this day.

The innovation enhanced the ability of companies to industrialize and grow. This boosted the profits of large corporations and helped in the creation of large and chain stores. The massive profit boost also contributed it workers unions which generally protested their poor treatment, which helped modern United States workers get workers rights. This came from greedy attempts to try and increase profit margins by creating frugal and barely workable working conditions.
