The tv in every patient's room was tuned to CNN which was showing live scenes and reporting of everything going on. This was a day full of terror, lots of unknowns, and a sense that America would be forever changed. America has gone through a lot of ups and downs since this day. My brother-in-law was killed in Afghanistan as the United States was fighting terrorism in the early 2000s. It is hard to watch the news and see the Taliban have taken over 94% of Afghanistan. Never forget the sacrifices of the first responders who gave their life so that others would live and ran toward the collapsing Twin Towers or all of the American men and women (and their families) who served in the military and were either killed or severely injured. It is amazing that all of you weren't even born yet when 9/11 happened. Please always remember the sacrifices of several great American men and women and all of the innocent lives that were lost that day.
