But I would change the way we find the resolution, in this model we ended up voting to send the issue to the General Council. Pretending to be in the shoes of the countries or people in these situations helps you understand the problem 100% more. I now have a greater knowledge of the crisis in Syria, and I will be able to speak about this crisis because of my now known knowledge of all the facts and positions of many countries. Therefore, I believe that this activity was very valuable and was a great way to learn about the world problems.

This may be the single most simple question that has the world's most complicated answer but I'll do my best. The United Nations is a compromise. This is basically the best we can do in the world we live in as we are not a unified people, we still have nations, borders, and countries. When we have a room full of over a hundred representatives working towards the goals and well-being of THEIR people then we know that a true consensus with full support will never be meet. although that may have been a downside, the United ations is the shining example of human interaction and may very well bring humanity to its next era. It's been theorized that if all of humankind worked together towards a common goal we could solve almost and challenge but to this date the UN is the largest collection of potential the greatest minds humanity has to offer. This organization can be used as the tool for our future not just as a species but as a civilization.
