To make it manageable, start small by choosing <strong>one </strong>course activity or assessment that you'd like to improve-- then think of different ways that students could practice or demonstrate their learning for that one activity.&nbsp;<br><br>For example, give them a choice between writing a paper, creating a video, or making an electronic portfolio. Also, seek student feedback afterwards about having that choice -- did they appreciate having options, and did that help their learning and motivation? ~Karen</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I already give students a great deal of autonomy in how they present their learning. As Karen mentioned in her post (are they called posts?), I allow students to compose their researched project in any format that makes sense for their purpose and audience. However, I want to take it a step further. I am currently trying to get funding for it to redesign English 1101 and 1102 (105 and 106 at Elmhurst) as a choose your own adventure type situation. I want to give more choice at every step of the learning/composing process. I am a big fan of choice as an equitable and accessible practice. </div>]]></description>
