         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Plans to create a riverside garden in the area date back to 1893. In 1902 a London Plane tree was planted to celebrate the Coronation of Edward VII and his Queen, Alexandra.</p></li><li><p>There is a sun dial feature in the park. To tell the time you can stand on the current month in the middle of the sundial circle and your shadow will be cast on the time.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Windsor Bridge is a historic pedestrian bridge that crosses the River Thames, connecting Windsor in Berkshire with Eton in Buckinghamshire</p></li><li><p>The River Thames is the longest river entirely in England and the second logest in the United Kingdom.</p></li><li><p>The current bridge was constructed in 1822 and was originally a road bridge made of cast iron. It was closed to cars in 1970 sue to cracks in the structure.</p></li><li><p>When first built, it was a toll bridge, meaning people had to pay to cross. The toll was removed in 1898.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Opened in 1815 however it burnt down on the 18th February 1908, a young girl known as Charlotte burnt to death in the fire. Charlotte's ghost has frequently been seen inside the current theatre.</p></li><li><p>It reopened in 1910 and has becoe known as a try-out datea for productions heading to London's West End.</p></li></ul><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>The chapel was founded in 1348 by King Edward III, who wanted to create a place of worship for the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most prestigious British order of chivalry. It was completed in the 16th century during the reign of Henry VIII.</p></li><li><p>St George's Chapel is renowned for its Gothic architecture, featuring stained glass windows, beautiful vaulted ceilings, and intricate stonework. The chapel is often considered one of the finest examples of English Gothic architecture</p></li><li><p>The chapel has been the site of many royal funerals including Henry VIII and his third wife JAne Seymour.</p></li><li><p>Prince Harry and Meghan were married here in 2018.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <title>Stop 6 - Crooked House</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>The building dates back to 1687, making it well over 300 years old. It was originally a shop but became a pub in the 19th century, known as the Crooked House because of its unique leaning structure.</p></li><li><p>The current oak-framed building suffers from a distinct lean, due to the use of unseasoned green oak or the foundations subsiding - the exact cause remains unclear.</p></li><li><p>Supposedly there is a secret passage under the house use to deliver produce from the market to Windsor Castle.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>The  construction of the current Guildhall begaun in 1687 by Sir Thomas Fitz but on hid death in 1689, the task was taken over by Sir Christopher Wren, whose childhoos home had been in Windsor.</p></li><li><p>The guidhall was the wedding venue for Charles, the Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles. Elton John also held his civil partnership to David Furnish here.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>If students wish to view the college - cross Windsor Bridge (Stop 2) and continue up the High St for 15 minutes. </p><p><br/></p><ul><li><p>Eton College is an independent boys boarding school, that educates over 1,300 pupils aged between 13 and 18 years.</p></li><li><p>It was founded in 1440 by King Henry VI. It was originally founded to provide free education for poor boys and it now costs over £52,000 a year to go to school at Eton!</p></li><li><p>Eton college has educated 20 Prime Ministers and Princes William and Harry were both educated there</p></li></ul>]]></description>
