I have decided to select children from Norway and children from England. In Norway, the average school year is 190 days. Children in England go to school for 195 days. Similar to the U.S., Norwegian kids go to school Monday-Friday. they start at about 8:30 AM and end at around 2-3 PM. England is similar also, as kids there go Monday through Friday. Schools there normally start at around 8:30 AM and end about 3:00 PM. Let's say that kids in Norway start school at 8:30 AM and end at 3:00 PM. If so, that would mean that kids in Norway spend about 390 minutes a day in school. 390 minutes X 190 days = 74,100 days in school a year for kids in Norway. If school starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:00 PM in England, that means they spend an equal amount of time per day in school as kids in Norway (390). 390 minutes a at X 195 days = 76,050 minutes a year.

JAPAN
For my first research project I have decided to select Japan. Japanese students go to school 5 days a week like american kids. However if desired, you may take optional classes on Saturday which can be free. Public schools in Japan usually consist of 200 days for a school year. Japan consist of about 40 weeks of school if you are counting a school week and no additional classes or 29 days if counting weekends. The hours per day students attend is between 6-7. The minutes per day students may attend is from 360-420.
AUSTRALIA
For the next country I chose, I chose Australia. Like American kids, Australian kids go to school 5 days a week. Australia however, divides their school year into terms. Terms last about 9-11 weeks each and there are four terms for every school year. In conclusion there is about 36-44 weeks a school year. Usually school days last from 9-3:30. This makes it about 6.5 hours every day. So in average the minutes per day for student education is 390 minutes.

Below: A school in Australia's Emblem.

I decided to look up China and Canada.I found out that Chinese students attend school 210 days in a school year. American students only go to school 180 days a year. U.S. students have 36 weeks of school but China only has 35 weeks. The reason China has more days is because China goes to school 6 days a week instead of 5.Chinese students go to school 20 percent more days than we do. Now Canada has school for 190 days except for Quebec who has 180 instead. Canadian students start school in September after Labor Day. On the other hand they end in June.

I chose South Korea and Iran to research.
My first country is South Korea. In South Korea the kids go to school from March to February from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. They also split the school year into 2 semesters or quarters and they have 5 days in a week like us with some Saturday classes scattered through out the year. In each classroom they have about 30 kids with about 10 computers to share. In third grade the kids learn the English language. Their teachers teach them math, science, social studies, music, physical education, and many other things. My second country is Iran. The students in Iran go to school about 10 months a year or 200 days. They start in September and end in June. They average about 27 kids per class. From ages 5 to 18, boys and girls learn separately. Their classes start at 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. The total of hours per year is 1,100. Also, there are 330 minutes in a day and 66,000 minutes in a year.

I chose to research about the countries Switzerland and Italy.
Switzerland
In Switzerland, the school year starts between mid-August and mid-September, has two terms or semesters and around 12 weeks holiday a year. All together, throughout the whole year, the children go for a total of 184 days. Children there usually go to school in the morning from around 8:30 am until 11:30 am. They have lunch time for 2 hours and then start again at 1:30 and continue until 3:00 or 4:00 pm. Swiss children go to school 5 days a week or on all the days of the week except for Wednesdays, it depends on where you are living. That works out as 920 days (4600 hours) in one academic year.
Italy
In Italy, primary schools ordinarily schedule classes for 30 hours per week, Mondays to Saturdays. Children in Italy go to school 200 days per year. In the entire year, students stay at school 1,000 hours per year. The school goes from mid-September to mid-June and is divided into three terms.

The school day is divided into 3 sessions. 7:00am to 12:00, 12:00-5:00pm, then finally 5:00pm to 10:00 pm. The students attend 1 session. This depends on the school and the area. (State, city, etc.) The students go to school for at least 200 days per school year. That is 300 minutes per day and 60,000 minutes per school year. Also, in hours it would be 5 hours per day and 1000 hours per school year. This The first school term runs through August to December. The second term goes from February to June.

I chose Kenya and France as my 2 countries.

Children in Kenya attend school 195 days in a year. School is separated into 3 terms each 13 weeks long.If you add all that up you get 195. The school day runs from 8am to 4pm.That leads up to a total of 1,560 hours and a total of 93,600 mites in a school year
The kids in France however only go to school 140 days a year. The school year in France is separated into 4 seven week terms. If you add it up it adds to 140. This is because kids in France don't go to school on Sundays and Wednesdays. The school day runs from 8 am to 4pm and there is a half day on saturday. That leads to a total of 1008 hours and a total of 60,480 minutes in a school year.
