After I read the book I felt like I could make up my own word. It was a pretty inspirational book and I really enjoyed how the author described Nick’s feelings and I felt like I was in the book myself. I would like to try to make up my own word but I think it would be pretty hard. But this book shows that you can do anything, even make up your own word. It was a really good book and I hope i see more books like this. -Daniel

My favorite part of the book is when Ms.Granger gives a dictionary with the word frindle. It is my favorite part of the book because Ms.Granger has always been fighting to not allow the word pen to be replaced. But at the end she allowed to add the word frindle to the dictionary. She actually was rooting for frindle that is also why she gave Nick a dictionary with the word frindle. That is why my favorite part of the book is the part where Ms.Granger gives Nick a dictionary with the word frindle.

My favorite part of the book was chapter 15. I enjoyed this chapter the most because Nick and Mrs. Granger sent each other packages and both had different reactions when they both opened each others packages. I liked that they both gave each other something special that resembled something from 5th grade. This chapter also says that Nick is grown up and is a junior in college. I also liked that Nick finally got the "frindle" claim from his dad.

My favorite part of the story was when Nick’s whole class shouted out “Frindle!” while holding pens on Picture Day at Lincoln Elementary. I liked it because this part was very humorous, and it also introduces the way Nick and his friends changed the word “pen” in the English language which made people think seriously about the change and things such as words, dictionaries, and the evolution of language. This is done when the word starts spreading from the students to around the town, across the country, and around the world. The word also becomes famous through the media. The part I enjoyed the most from the story was when Nick's class took their photos on Picture Day at Lincoln Elementary.
Sentences: 5

It’s kinda dumb and it’s getting annoying.

9 SENTENCES

I think the book was pretty predictable. I think that way because a lot of kids books are predictable because they go like this they have a problem which they overcome through hardships, and get helped from there friends and have a good ending THE END. So Frindle was like that the hardship was Ms. Granger tried tried to stop the word frindle from spreading. He overcame that by getting it on the news with help from his friends and he had happy ending of having a lot of money. Of all books I have read Frindle was one of the most predictable.

I also think it was cool how a 5th grader made up a word and later it helped him. Even though I liked that part, I feel he shouldn't have made it up because it made things complicated with Mrs.Granger. One thing I liked about that part was that later, even though Mrs.Granger didn't like the word, she thought about it and had a " talk " with him. She liked having him as a student and when Nick was in college, she gave him a dictionary for Christmas that had the word " Frindle" in it. I feel that the book is a role model to be creative.

Did you find the story predictable? Why or why not? I did find the story predictable because you know its easy for me to predict a character that causes a lot of stuff and is a trouble maker. Nick is a pretty good trouble maker so its easy to predict. But I did not expect the ending to be like that. It was a pretty weird plot twist (for me) because I always thought that Ms.Granger would be actually fully strict and mean. So yeah overall this book is mostly predictable.

I did not find the story predictable. In the beginning we are told that Nick is not smart so I did not think that he would be able to make so many smart decisions in the story. Mrs. Granger is shown to be the villain but she turns out to be the best character in the story. I could not predict these things while reading the story. Story also says that Nick became very rich due to the sale of frindle items. I did not think that Nick would be becoming so rich.

My favorite part was Nick and Ms. Granger opening their packages at the end of the story and especially Nick opening his old letter and the dictionary with frindle. I never expected Ms. Granger to be fighting against frindle just so it could become popular.. for Nick. I think that was very sweet of her and also smart, and when Nick gave her the gold pen that he and Janet had found the day frindle started, I was really surprised. But I think that could have been predictable because Ms. Granger had given him her favorite brown pen. Also, I never expected frindle to be going all over the world because of Bud Lawrence, and that also shocked me. 5 SENTENCES

The way I see it, Frindle is a story about a boy named Nick who is very mischievous and is good at getting away with things. He comes up with a word which is frindle. He makes a big impact on kids at school because his teacher, Mrs. Granger does not like kids saying frindle because it means pen and she thinks that there is no need for a word that means the same thing as another word that has already been in the dictionary. Later on the word just becomes more and more popular and more and more kids are using it. Mrs. Granger soon acts like she has given up because so many kids don’t seem to care about the consequences. These consequences include staying after school and writing the sentence,” I am writing this sentence with a pen.”, but everyone was writing, “I am writing this sentence with a frindle”. She started to respect the word when it started to spread worldwide. Mrs. Granger realized that nothing is wrong with the word that Nick made up. When Nick was almost out of college he gets a package from Mrs. Granger. Nick never would have guessed what it was. When he opens it there is a pen specifically labeled frindle. He is super super happy. Nick sends Mrs. Granger a package with a pen in it and a small note saying “You may call this pen whatever name you want”.
