Groups will be homogenous in nature as it will be all 8th grade students discussing the same topic (transition to high school). The groups will also be small (10-12) participants set up as all girls, all boys, as well as co-educational.
Stage 1: Will be introductions and getting to know one another. The students may already be acquainted with each other but may not know me that well. This will be accomplished in session 1. We will practice group sequences as well as student leadership in discussions.
Stage 2: The bulk of the sessions will be stage 2 and include all of the topics in the lesson plans. There is a lot to cover and we will need time for students to bring up their own topics.
Stage 3: Conclusions will include making sure students know how to contact me after the group is over. It will be important for students to know where to find counseling resources in the high school as well.

D.1.c. Interdisciplinary Teamwork
Counselors who are members of interdisciplinary teams delivering multifaceted services to clients remain focused on how to best serve clients. They participate in and contribute to decisions that affect the well-being of clients by drawing on the perspectives, values, and experiences of the counseling profession and those of colleagues from other disciplines.

This standard will be important when considering the interdisciplinary team across schools and levels. All staff members' time and ideas for their portion of the program will be important to planning and efficacy of the program. It is important, when creating positive school culture and mental health programs that teams work well together and create well rounded, effective programs.

A.2.c. Developmental and cultural sensitivity
counselors communicate information in ways that are both developmentally and culturally appropriate. Counselors
use clear and understandable language when discussing issues related to informed consent. When clients have
difficulty understanding the language that counselors use, counselors provide necessary services (e.g., arranging for
a qualified interpreter or translator) to ensure comprehension by clients. In collaboration with clients, counselors consider cultural implications of informed consent procedures and,
where possible, counselors adjust their practices accordingly.

I think this standard will be very important in this group setting. In North Texas, where I live, there are many ESL students and many 1st year students. Have a staff member that speaks Spanish would be important to make sure that students can ask questions and get correct answers for the new era of their lives in high school. Making sure that group participants know that being sensitive to different cultures when listening to concerns and questions will be essential.
