Mother- 1968

I have always been one to put my academics first but I always struggled doing so with no computer at home growing up. I would have to go to the library all the time just to do research for assignments but one day my parents surprised me & my siblings with our very own computer at home!

Looking back it was bulky, slow, and had a small screen but at the time, it was better than walking to the library for assignments.

Mother- 1968

We don't see these often anymore, back in the day cassettes were all the rave. I used these to help myself learn Spanish. Listening to pronunciation was very beneficial top learning the overall language.

Friend- 2001

I preferred using these interactive whiteboards because it got us out of our seats and allows us to have fun while learning. It was also helpful to watch the teacher demonstrate what we were suppose to do for our assignments.

Friend- 2001

I liked to use desktop computers as well because it usually meant class trips to the schools computer lab. We would always begin with our class assignments but towards the end of class (10-15 minutes before), the teacher would give us free time to play games. I would always love to visit coolmathgames4kids.com or play some random typing game.

These computers were super loud especially the PC box but they got the job done!

Nephew- 2006

Our school had computers available in the library that were cool but I preferred using the Chromebooks in class. In my opinion it's better because it's easier to transport and save more space. The desktop computers often seemed to glitch or crash if you were using it too long, I think they needed a upgrade. Chromebooks helped enhance my learning by allowing me to visit sites such as Quizlet or Kahoot to help study for quizzes/ tests.

Nephew- 2006

My school was fortunate enough to have tablets for the students, it was a limited amount but we still had them. These tablets were used for interactive educational games and to read books. It was a fun way to be "hands- on".
