However, I was surprised when COVID spread very rapidly. I originally expected it to take longer to ge to America. Online school began to happen in the March of my sixth grade year. I did not enjoy the online school. Even though I was at home, I did not learn as well as I do know back in-person. I also could not see my friends or previous teacher. These people make school interesting and fun at the same time, making each class enjoyable. Firstly, the birthday parties that we usually have for the people in my family are filled with music, food, laughter, and close family members. However, family members were not able to come over. We had a small party with just the 5 of us. My brother’s graduation from American Heritage was also affected. Even though it was a miracle that he had a graduation, it was still not what I imagined his graduation to be like. The summers of before my 7th and 8th grade years were already planned. We planned on going to Colombia and Lebanon to visit our family from both sides. Because of the pandemic, all of these experiences that could have created life long memories never happened.
