The best way to enter the ancient city heart is surely through the beautiful Real Road. Once turned to the triumphal entry of the Polish kings during the official visits, the Real Road it is in reality one of the real roads briefer than the whole country. After the terrible destruction by the bombardments of the second world war conflict, the buildings that follow the street has been faithfully reconstructed and, with the elegant façades pastel color, makes still to perceive the beauty of one time.

The Town hall is easily recognizable for the tall tower (the tallest of the whole Danzica!) from where it polls uncontested the gilded statue of the king August Sigismondo II. After having been for many years center of the Administrative Center of the city, the Town hall entertains the administrative offices today and, in the rooms of the superior plans, the Civic Museum of Danzica where old paintings, objects of epoch and different incisions and historical photos are guarded.

To see the most beautiful panorama in the city, you have to go up to the Church of Saint Maria and climb up to the point of the bell tower. The four hundred steps that separate you from the point of observation can seem so many but of sure is worth of it! The church, is besides an unique building in its kind: it treats in fact of the church in red bricks greater than the world, with a central aisle formed from over 30 chapels and the possibility to contain to its inside more than 20.000 people. An amazing place.

The access in the Old City can happen only through the ancient doors of Danzica, each different for style and character from the others. Among the most important, we surely name the Golden Gate placed to the extremity of the Long Street and built in substitution of the Gothic Gate in 1612;the Green Gate that directly leans out on the port zone; the Gate of Saint Maria, near the Church of Saint Maria and of the street of the amber and the Bread Gate, realized in the XV century from the Teutonic Riders.

#5 Mariacka Street

Walking for Mariacka is like to return back in the past, surrounded from old shops and buildings with gargoyles in stone. The street of the craftsmanship and the commerce of Danzica is a particularly happy and animated place, perfect for the one that is in search of souvenir to bring to house or for the one who wants to look at a beautiful showcase of traditional products. By the way, what do you think about giving an amber jewel for a special person? You find you in fact in the capital of the amber: big part of the commercial success of Danzica was and is based on this precious resin fossil, from many known as the gold of the Baltic one. The street is besides rich of adorable coffees where make a break after so much to walk.
