Dearest Sanaya,

I still remember the day you made your way to our Godrej One office on a rainy day, after a long-ish drive from Pune because you were keen to IV in person.

Your clarity of thought - conviction to do this work and sense of calm had Jimit, Ankana and I instantly hooked. As we heard about your experiences with UNESCO and working with an early child educationist, it because more and more clear that you were here to make an impact and that you were here to stay.

Our time together after that has been full of adventure with the highest highs and lows that we tried to collectively learn from.

Do you remember the first prospectus and how much energy you got from that project? Gosh from there to the beautiful phone reviews you were doing less than a month into your role to the crazy lovely things we learned about you a long the way - be it your obsession for coffee, your love for Cinnabon which you could afford because of the intermittent :P Your lifting obsession and how the time at the gym just made your day better. All this coupled with your love for musicals and the arts, your deep love and concern for your brother and your roommate and all your silliness of not leaving Powai for the first many months because you could not deal with the distances after having spent your full like in Kalyani Nagar.

I hope you have taken from these two years all the exciting parts of the adventure and I hope that you will continue to make big, bold, courageous decisions as you pick your next adventure.

I've gotten the chance to work with you very closely over the last 3 months and it's been amazing to learn from you. I think I mentioned this before but I always look forward to your reflections since I resonate with so much of how you're feeling, learning and growing. AND I have always admired your way of looking at the things - you have the eyes of an optimist :)

We'll miss you for sure, but I know that wherever you go next, they'll be lucky to have you. You really remind me of Belle from BATB (My favorite Disney movie EVER) so dedicating this song to you <3

We didn't get a chance to directly work together on a project, but I'm so glad that we did talk about our shared love of musicals!

I'm really glad to have been in the same team as you and hear about all the amazing work you're doing. Just hearing about the daunting hiring numbers you worked on left me in awe, and how calmly and earnestly you reached your goals.

Dear Sanaya,

I had the pleasure of knowing you for the past 2 years. We joined Teach For India on the same day, and have been each other's support system on so many occasions. Our in person coffee conversations have been a huge miss during this pandemic, and I wish we would get to do that once the situation permits. Your openness to share, and your willingness to listen have helped me in the past to open up, to share with someone in the team. I am really thankful to you for that.
